I love how I can almost still feel the zapper in my hand and hear the clicking, after looking at this picture.

And we have come full circle. Can’t wait to see how these $2500 headsets look when they turn piss yellow…

I will 100% buy a Vision Pro if someone makes a zapper and there’s a “Time Crisis”-style game.

What’s funny about this?

I was wondering that too. It's perhaps something for /r/midlyinteresting or something, but it's not comedic in any way is it?

Not even. Use in conjunction with a headset would render the Zapper completely useless.
The entire point of the Zapper was that it mattered where you aimed it, because it took its cues from the screen.
With a headset, there is no screen, which means the Zapper can't do shit.
"Hey, here's 2 pieces of gray plastic. They can't work together. They have nothing to do with each other. But they're both gray plastic." is no closer to /r/mildlyinteresting than it is to /r/funny.

I don't see it.
One of these is a beautiful, understated piece of audio-visual wizardry, destined to revolutionize what we think of as entertainment, for decades to come.
The other is made by Apple.

I mean it's Apple. Their design department is not known for being "opposed to inspiration"

The people who played with that thing are the ones designing the new stuff
