Is the Aquarius plot done already? Because from Lucy’s monologue, I wonder what’s more to it that she said that she could’ve been more emotional had she knew what’s to come. Or does her monologue pertains to Erza’s situation?

Yes it’s appears done. I believe it’s just about future battles the team has to face.

It seems like it. Probably something to do with the whole team’s fight or Lucy’s next fight.

If we weren't talking about Fairy Tail, considering Lucy's somber narration and Jellal promising to join Fairy Tail if Erza returned safely, I would say that Erza might die or turn into a demon, which would motivate the team to complete the quest at any cost to use the reward's wish and try to bring Erza back...

But since this is Fairy Tail, it means the battles will be tough and/or emotional...

After the Labyrinth collapsed, Lucy actually had a similar narration about something "to come." It seems like something awful happens later and presumably it's sad enough where Lucy feels like she would've treasured this reunion more had she known about it. Presumably the search for Aquarius' Key is over, but I hope we get more with Brandish.

I feel like that monologue is hinting that this time Aquarius is gonna die in an upcoming fight

Or it's the reverse. She gets Aquarius back, but something causes her to lose all her other spirits.

I dont think thats possible. The only way to break a contract is either if Lucy goes to jail or if she dies which I doubt either is happening. The only feasible reason she can lose another key is if shes forced to summon CSK again given the gravity of the situation but I doubt she'll be pushed to do that given that CSK isn't really a counter to dragons.

That would suck. And by that I mean becomes an unnecessary plot point that we just got done finishing that no one asked to have happen and that’s now forced to be a thing!

It's like a monkey's paw. She got the thing she wanted, Aquarius, but it came at the cost of her losing something else. A pyrrhic victory. Fairy Tail is never going to kill off any of the heroes, so something like this would be the closest thing we could possibly get to any sort of real hard hitting consequences.

And that would be? You know this is Fairy tail. Consequences have NO effect here as its a light-hearted series from Mashima himself!

Death isn't the only kind of consequence that can exist in a story. If Lucy loses her other spirits, that's a pretty big deal, considering they are a big part of how she fights and are very important to her. She would be devastated, having to start over from scratch and find them all over again, which could take years, even she even manages to get them all back at all. This would give an opportunity for the keys to end up in the hands of people, leading to a resurgence of new celestial spirit mages.

True. But this doesn't seem like Mashima's style. And I doubt he cares about starting a new generation Celestial spirit mages

No she’s probably talking about the whole squad ,meaning that all team natsu is gonna have a hard time !!! Maybe gate will destroy aquarius key again !!! Just a theory

The monologue refers to her and Aquarius in my opinion. I think Lucy will have to do another sacrifice? I don't know but that story got me excited for a future Lucy moment, maybe it's something similar to tartaros?

My theroy is this has something to do with Brandish. She was planing to give the key to Lucy anyway, and she's a close friend to Lucy. Perhaps something sad will happen to Brandish, it seems a little odd her story would end there. But we'll find out soon enough.

She wishes to be more emotional with her reunion, but she is looking towards the next battle. That is what I sense in the dialogue.

It is and thank god! Honestly this plotline should have been finished two chapters ago!

Also just because it transitioned over to what erza is doing is not proof of that, we don’t know what will happen next on Lucy’s end later down the line.
