Football Sickness rumor
There was a rumor the team was sick before the Rose Bowl and honestly that’s how they played. Any confirmation of this in the media?

Football Proud to be a Duck!
I'd say I can't believe some of the posts I was reading last night, but I can. You'll see "fans" talking out their ass anytime something goes wrong. Where were all the offensive complaints before yesterday, if we were so underachieving?
Ohio State was firing on all cylinders and is the best team in college football right now, without any hesitation. When they play hungry and extremely aggressive off the ball, nobody is matching them. We got punched in the mouth in the first two quarters and woke up too late.
Does that discredit everything we did this year? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
We had a brilliant season, and statistically this was one of the best Oregon teams in program history (including the best defence in team history). I'm extremely proud of what this team was able to accomplish and watching the development from the first few games.
We joined a conference that many said we couldn't compete in, and ran the table handing out belt to ass for everyone in our path, winning the CONFERENCE TITLE IN OUR FIRST SEASON.
I've seen some posts around lanning, which is humorous to say the least. There is no coach in the country I'd want leading us outside Dan Lanning. The way he resonates with his team and builds passion is unlike anyone else in college football. We have experienced growth EVERY SINGLE YEAR under Lanning ( 10-3,12-2 L in conference title game, 13-1 conf champs) If the trend continues, next year just may be it.
Only a few starters next year will be portal players, and the talent that's been growing and developing all year behind the starters is something to be very excited about.
Guess how many Years it took a HC to win a national championship from some of the best college coaches of all time?
Jim Harbaugh - 13 seasons (not including even USD or SF) Kirby Smart - 6 seasons Nick Saban - 10 seasons (not including NFL) Eddie O - 7 seasons Dabo - 8 seasons
FEBU. If you can't stand by your 13-1 Ducks after they gave their heart and soul this season in a conference we "didn't belong", find a new team.

Football From Ohio State fan
I just wanted to apologize for some of the OSU fans commenting/bragging during and since the game. You guys had a great season and are a great addition to the Big Ten. I am sure we will have a lot of big games in the future. You will win your fair share of those.

Football The difference between us and Ohio State
We aren't calling for our coach to be fired after a single loss.
Dan Lanning is still the guy. I trust the process.
Go Ducks

Football “Dan Lanning and Oregon are hurt after the Rose Bowl loss to Ohio State, but the future is so bright for the Ducks”
on3.comI actually ran into Ari at LAX while waiting for my flight back home from the rose bowl — he was such an awesome dude and super friendly — and was in the middle of writing this article when talking to them. Gave me a healthy dose of in person cope that I’ve been holding onto the last couple hours 😂.

Football New Oregon fan
I started watching CFB recently because my friends are into it, but I never grew up with a team or went to college. I saw that Oregon's QB was left handed and I always root for left handed QBs, since I was one in high school. Your colors are awesome, and I love the mascot. What can I expect being an Oregon fan?

Football I know I am going to get downvoted to oblivion, but...
I'm probably a couple decades older than most on this sub. I grew up in Eugene. I've seen a lot of ups and downs and view the season overall as two steps forward one step back. I firmly believe Lanning will eventually get us over the final hump.
Now for the downvoted part. Chip Kelly put Oregon on the map. He changed college football and took us to our first Natty. I want him to win one even if it is with the team that just got done taking my Ducks behind the woodshed.
Go Ducks. Go Chip Kelly.

Football Just wanted to give a shout out to the mods
Just wanted to give a thanks to the mods for yesterday and this season.
Yesterday was an absolute clown show by Ohio State fans brigading the sub and the game thread. I couldn’t imagine having to monitor that garbage while trying to watch the game too.
Y’all are appreciated from me.

Football Be Patient with Lanning
x.comLook yesterday sucked, but I think that if the program keeps building they can win it all eventually. There’s no guarantee it ever happens, but the discourse around Lanning is awful. He’s been a head coach for three years, it takes a long time to become a truly elite coach in this sport.

Football James head injury
In retrospect, it sure seems like Jordan James was struggling with concussion issues the back half of the season. All those games with limited carries after halftime now seem like they were not just rest for tired legs. I'm guessing that was concussion protocol stuff. The hit that knocked him out of the Rose Bowl was a helmet shot, but not something extraordinary.
I hope the young man is OK. A history of repeated concussions in a single season is worrisome if that is what it is. I love his hard running style, but he sure does lead with his head a lot. I hope he gets and stays healthy or moves on from football if he needs to. Be well, young man!

Football Losing to UW last year hurt worse, anyone else?
I was at both games. I’ve been a fan for nearly 20 years. I absolutely felt like we could have won both games and gone all the way.
But last year hurt worse, maybe because it was a closer game and we were in it, and had a good shot if we didnt show up nervous and rattled for the whole first quarter.
With yesterday’s game, from the opening drive it was clear it wasn’t our day. I’m pretty pissed at how unprepared we were. I don’t understand 90% of our play calling on offense which just felt like a white flag from the first quarter? But idk, stinging less for me than last year — though I think we are all just used to it at this point.

Football Ducks appreciation
Dear Ducks,
Very thankful for you guys joining the Big10. Watching your fans come alive again at the start of the 2nd half was both awesome and shocking. And then again in the 4th quarter. I was genuinely at a loss looking at the screen. I don’t think any other fan base is capable of doing what appears to be your “normal” in the way you support your team.
You have the respect of Buckeye Nation. Not solely because you’re a solid fan base but also you’re a damned good program with likely the coach of the future.
Looking forward to many more matchups like the one in October.

Football How do we feel about the offense around the QB next year?
Seems like Moore would have the inside track on QB next year just based on his 5 star rating and his experience.
The Oline has names to it, but am I the only one a little concerned about the skill position guys coming in? For all the talent, no one really saw any meaningful time on the field. It seemed we had Tez, Stewart and Holden see almost every snap on offense.
I'm guessing Evan Stewart is coming back, but if not, we're losing our top 4 receivers and our returning players accounted for 70 of the 306 receptions made over the season.
In the runningback room, we'll almost certainly lose James, and Whittington is a step behind him, is there anyone poised to make the next step there too, or are there talks of portal guys filling in these positions?

Football Congrats from a buckeye
Great season, welcome to the big ten, and congrats on the title. Buckeye have a chip on their shoulder and are coming for everyone right now lol. Looking forward to years of our rivalry, and asking that you put on a temporary buckeye or psu cap for big ten pride. At the end of the day, all that really matters is at least we're not the fucking sec.

So is Moore or Novosad our guy? Or will we hit the portal again. Arch?
Eh I just hope we can develop one of the guys we have.

Football What happened after UW
Seems like after the UW game the defense (specifically the Run D) just kind of fell apart. Didn’t show up well against either PSU or OSU. I don’t remember anyone key getting injured, is Tosh a candidate for any HC job openings or is it something completely different?

Football [Postgame Thread] Oregon loses 21-41
Keep it civil. As always, other posts that belong here will be deleted. Please continue to report those breaking rules.
EDIT: We've had to ban over 100 brigading trolls today. Most from Ohio State, and a not small number from Washington (who for some reason are very emboldened after losing the Tony the Tiger Bowl). Fun fact, we share those usernames with their subreddits, so they are banned there as well. We do the same here with Duck fans who cant control themselves.
To all: be a good sport, and celebrate in your own subreddit.
