You get guys like Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd, Jack Black. Patton Oswalt, and then give them the Jumanji treatment, or just show their characters played by guys like The Rock or Henry Cavill, but then Seth Rogan's voice comes out of his respective characters mouth.
Why? Dudes got a good enough record for collaboration and he's got a better one for ad libbing. Hinestly letting the funny cast do a lot of ad libbing will make it feel more D&D
Ad libbing is fine. But Seth has demonstrated that letting him near a writing table is a recipe for failure. Remember his โpassion projectsโ in Sausage party, Good Boys and Santa Inc?
Id be a huge fan if they set up a plot point and a big bad, and then the party just decides to do something completely different half an hour in and then it becomes a story about making a goblin they befriended the king of a major city.

I'm still in favor of the Muppet dnd movie where their characters are played by famous actors badly dubbed by the Muppets voices
