I don’t get where everyone is getting this “hard feelings” idea from.
Every video when Brett has talked about the company or Ben has been extremely positive with not even a hint of negativity ever. She herself seems to have been the initiative for videos with Ben, for example. Even saying often how she watches his show/respects him.
This was not the case for Candace at all, because she was/is insane and antisemitic. The vibes were almost constantly negative (especially after Kayne) and even slightly so.
What’s more likely happening with Brett is that she’s married, busy with plenty of other things, probably wants a new challenge and to branch out on her own. Smart and successful people tend to do that. She probably felt like she reached the ceiling of what she could accomplish with the Daily Wire.
Sometimes you have to listen to what isn't being said, the "hard feelings" idea comes from Brett deleting every picture on her instagram of her producer and replacement, Reagan Rohrbach. Reagan was her maid of honor and still has Brett's pictures on her instagram last I checked, but she probably has to give the appearance that there is no ill will since she is going to be the new host.
Maybe contract negotiations fell through and Brett was given the choice between sticking with a contract she wasn't happy with or terminating her contract and she chose the latter. The fact that she had already created her own channel just shows that she isn't ready to retire to farm and family life and may have wanted to grow beyond what the Daily Wire would have allowed her to do. If there was an NDA signed, we'll really never know for certain.
If you watch her "bestie" Amir Odom talking about it he sounds like a massive enabler and very envious that he personally hasn't been invited to feature on dailyWire as a gay conservative YouTuber
Her Mom also going round liking stuff that bags Reagan could point to Brett being around people telling her that SHE is the show when it's very much a team effort where she gets the massive benefit of fame from being the face 👀
Reagan has been there since before Brett was decided on as host and if Brett was wanting to be paid like a Walsh or Knowles i.e. as if she herself is a commentator and media personality and not just a mouthpiece then Reagan could very well be keen to take over in Brett's place especially as she was in the running to host originally as well and has the journalism and social media based background where Brett has been an actor.
EDIT oh and Reagan also moved a big distance to work for the Comments section 3 years ago where Brett recently moved further away making a commute necessary
I believe Amir's overall point was that in their attempt to reach a wider audience, the Daily Wire may want to seek out talent that isn't just white men between the ages of 35-70. Is there a huge difference between Michael Knowles, a thirty-something Catholic. husband, and father as opposed to Matt Walsh, a thirty-something Catholic, husband, and father? If you're someone that engages with the Daily Wire frequently, absolutely, but a non-subscriber or casual listener may not be able to tell the difference. Now, you can argue that diversity shouldn't matter, but the Comments Section was specifically designed and created to target a younger audience that was not being reached by their other hosts. There's a reason the original Comment's Section set looked like a young person's bedroom and it grew 4 millions subscribers in 3 years, something that none of the hosts at the DW besides Ben have been able to do in twice as many years. If Brett believed she was worth more than she was getting paid, she had good reason to.
Reagan being there before Brett isn't really an argument for anything since they obviously found what they were looking for when they cast Brett or they would have had Reagan from day 1. I've heard every host praise the virtues of meritocracy, but when it comes to their own talent, suddenly everyone is replaceable. Oh and for what it's worth, Chrissy Clark claims she was cast as the original host of the Comments Section back in 2021. So if anything, Reagan was passed over not once, but twice in favor of someone else. I don't blame anyone for trying to make a better life for themselves, but when it looks like you stabbed someone else in the back to make it happen, people will draw their own conclusions.
Only time will tell whether or not Daily Wire made the right decision letting Brett go, I think she was aging out of the Comment Section format, myself. She certainly could have grown into something else with the DW's backing, now she gets to try it on her own terms.
