Do you know if these rifles are ok to dry fire?

Check if there is a cut-out in the chamber face for the firing pin, if it has one then is it ok to dry fire a little bit like when you fired off the last round and pulled the trigger again with nothing in the chamber. However, it's still not recommended to continuously dry fire

Not recommended...can damage the firing pin, it's a flat blade that goes right against the tapered bore, without the brass there you can damagethe barrel too.

always read the manual for any firearm, even if you have to look one up online

Good advice, and I looked for instructions on that but nothing in the savage a22 manual specified on anything regarding dry fire

I’ve got the same optic, might end up putting it on my 10/22 since it’s naked currently. I slapped it on my type 81 originally and never got a chance to sight it in.

It's a savage 22 with an MDT chassis, heavy barrel
