Yep. This fight felt a lot better because Renji didn't hesitate to actually hit or badly injure uryu. heck, Renji was like "as long as he's not dead I guess it's gonna be ok"

Whereas it felt like Ichigo was a lot more cautious, and he didn't even want to hit uryu until given no choice.

When Renji used Zaga Teppo I was like oh you really wanna hurt him but held back enough that it didn't vaporize him.

No, even I like this fight better. The way they've animated and set it up is brilliant. Renji deserved it, too.

I agree. This really shows the full extent of the power Renji gained from his training. He seemed way weaker than Rukia based on what we saw in the manga

Well, Renji did do more than just defending. He was at least looking to incapacitate Uryu.

Renji hesitated a little in his fight with Uryu therefore having a fuller experience

Ichigo hesitate a lot in his fight and didn’t go all out as he could have with

As someone who looked forward to Uryu Vs Ichigo the most out of all the fights, yes, I must say that this fight ended up being much cooler and much more impressive animation-wise!

Hopefully Uryu and Ichigo will fight again and have a better fight that is also much better animated than the previous one!

Not just the fight was better, but the ANIMATION was better. Imo, that fight was probably top 3 in the tybw for animation quality. Not only how fluid it was, but it's a better style of animation fit for Bleach, vs. say the Yama vs Royd Lloyd style animation. So you aint wrong

In terms of animation, choreography etc i agree.

But Ichigo vs Uryu was better in terms of story and character.

It's valid. Ichigo held back too much because he still sees Uryu as a friend (on the other hand, Ichigo and Uryu were closer than Renji and Uryu) and we didn't get to enjoy that fight that well. In fact, the clashes between Ichigo and Yhwach were more entertaining than that.

Nah It's fair. Me personally, Despite Renji being my top 2 fav and uryu being my top 1 fav, and loving the new fight, I still like Ichigo v Uryu a bit better.

2 reasons.

  1. The little pause before the fight actually starts, with them staring at each other and the epic ost playing. Love that kind of stuff. Really builds the hype.
  2. The ending of the fight was really well executed.

The fight with renji is flashy and probably a funnier watch, the fight with ichigo is probably executed better from the script. 9/10 and 9.5/10 respectively IMO.

No!! I was rewatching that fight because I want to see more of Uryu but this takes the cake!! Uryu's moves all have names now!!! And god I am eating good this year being a Uryu SIMP!! XD

It's because of Zabimaru's new versatility. Zabimaru is sword, whip, canon, shield, extra arm, can melt stone or cause explosions, and use its arm hair to sprout extra arms. Renji has better diversity of attacks, range, and new skill reveals whereas Ichigo unfortunately only had one fairly new move and exclusively fights with a sword. Renji was able to get in close for things like that sword vs bow sequence and his attacks landed (despite lack of damage), but Ichigo was kept at a distance outside of the one collar-grabbing argument. This isn't Ichigo's fault given the emotional weight of his fight, but he was a also too depressed to do cool stuff like kick an arrow away or attack that aggressively.

I fully agree with you! Renji's new bankai  various techniques were displayed extremely well, and the fight was way more mind-blowing than Uryu vs Ichigo!

Well this one was an actual fight, so that tracks. The Ichigo fight was just.
