OP said "protect our children," which seemed to imply they believe their own children are in danger. I'm merely taking them at their word.

As for you, it sounds like you're worried on behalf of children you have no personal relationship to or interaction with, and whom you're only aware of at all thanks to news sources of questionable repute. While that may or not may be the case, it sounds like your own children are fine and not in any danger from trans people.

Which is a great reason to just leave trans people alone.

Are you not worried on behalf of children of mass shootings? If someone's kid is homeschooled, the kid is not at risk of a school shooting, yet the parent can still worry for school shootings and have an opinion on them. Not caring about someone's situation just because it doesn't personally affect YOU is honestly kind of selfish. A quick search will tell you that huge disproportionate amounts of convicted trans people are for sex offenses, as well as lots of stories about a C - Tier male athletes becoming the no. 1 in the sport after transitioning. Sure, if you transition and go through the procedures and live a private normal life, I may not approve of it but it is your life, and you're not really hurting anyone. However if you go around and 1. push this agenda that it's normal and sane, and 2. abuse it, for example dominating womens sports, or molesting people, then there is a problem.

You can always tell who these people are, because they literally never talk about women’s sports outside of this extremely narrow context.

Yet it still remains completely relevant. Are you admitting you don't care for womens sports? Obviously I'd much rather watch NBA over WNBA, but does that mean the womens sports doesn't matter? Of course it does, which is why it shouldn’t be infested with men claiming they are women, yet with advantages in every aspect relevant to the sport.

It does, why wouldn't it? Maybe I'm not an avid fan of WNBA, but that doesn't mean I'm against women's rights. It still doesn't affect the argument, because the point still stands.

And you know tons? I actually was watching the womens world cup, but you wouldn't know that. Plus, it's still true. Spots that would have been otherwise held by top tier women athletes are now being stolen by sub tier male athletes, that is a fact.

I don’t think you’ve ever talked to a woman athlete about this topic. Or a trans person about this (or anything, for that matter). And I highly doubt you’ve ever said one word publicly about the actual problems driving the inherent unfairness in women’s sports - namely, the lack of funding and support from higher learning institutions.

No, you’re just another one of millions of dudes who doesn’t give a passing thought to women’s sports except for when you see a chance to complain about trans women for having the audacity to want to participate in a field that you truly do not give two shits about.

Oh wait, sorry. Turns out you watch a World Cup game once every four years. My mistake, you’re definitely a subject matter expert now.
