Best place to turn up for middle age crowd? Events, Activities & Sports

Hi, buncha childhood friends are all turning 40 this year. What’s the best places to get hyphy that have great vibes with a bit older crowd? Not too interested in partying with college aged kids but still wanna get a little wild haha

Downtown Los Gatos. Campbell is a little younger, Willow Glenn older.

Go to RetroJunkie bar in Walnut Creek when they have a tribute band in that does songs from your favorite bands in high school. Tonight, for example, Blink 180-True performed. Next week, The Red Hot Cholo Peppers. They’ve got something going on most nights. It’s a hoot.

“Playful cocktails turned out in a funky, ’80s-themed space with live music, DJs, & pinball machines.”

Retro junkie gets a lot of hate but they have a cheap beer and shot of fernet deal so I’ll always suggest them lmao

At home. What are you crazy? We old people just want to be home.

Where are you located? Sunnyvale has a couple of fun bars close together. Pacifica has Winters Tavern. SF has a bunch of places. Benders and Emperor Norton are two that I've enjoyed.

Where in SF would you recommend?

I always enjoy a concert at the Independent or Great American Music Hall or some other venues. Look up who's playing on pollstar.com. Search for SF and surrounding areas

If I can ever get away from my kids I'm taking my wife back to Raven Bar in San Francisco. Good times.

You gotta gather a group of at least 6 and just take over a place of your choosing.

Exactly, if you get enough middle aged people, all kids will get scared away and leave. Problem solved

Following. When will you be heading out? I need to check my calendar and plan way in advance so I can make sure to conserve my energy. I’m in SJ…Willow Glen has lots of options and so does downtown Campbell.

Downtown Danville. Auburn is a good upscale bar for middle aged crowd. There are a couple dive bars literally less than 100 ft away that have live music often and def fit the bill for what you’re looking for. The food around there is so good too - I recommend Revel for dinner/apps to start the night.

Go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond.

Frank the Tank deserved better and you can’t cut off the end of the quote. Gonna have to rewatch that one.

“I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time”

Not hyphy but an older crowd - the bar at the end of the road in Port Costa. Really a dive bar with a unique atmosphere.
