My new Battlewagon

Post image
Upvotes

Just picked up my first battlewagon yesterday!

She's a 2006 Pontiac Vibe (which, for those who don't know, is basically a reskinned Toyota Matrix)

I've been wanting to build an Overland rig for a while now, so I already have plans for her, first of which is a 2-3 inch lift & some slightly bigger all terrain tires (I plan on using her as my daily driver as well). I also have all the standard addons planned as well: roof rack, external lighting, awnings, fuel & water cans, etc.

Super excited to get into this little project & I'll be lurking here for some additional inspiration.

Lift Kit Choices '25 OBW

Post image
28 Upvotes

Hello. I'm looking to get a lift kit for my 2025 OBW and there's a lot of choices out there. Primarily, the kit will be to increase my ground clearance.

I also don't want to lose ride quality. I've heard Ironman kits are known to create a poorer ride quality ans they've damaged sway bars on newer subaru models.

Between ADF, Rallitek, and LP Adventures: Who offers the best kit out there that diminishes on road ride quality the least. I've heard rallitek has stellar customer sqtisfaction, but heard little about ADF and LPA other than they arsatisfaction. I'd love to hear your arguments on why I should choose one company over another.

Lift kit and tire size suggestions for an 03 Legacy L?

Post image

Hey everybody, does anyone out there have a lifted 03 Legacy L? I want to get a lift kit for mine (preferably 2”). I don’t want spacers especially since I need to coil overs. Price isn’t a big concern as long as it’s not in the thousands, but I want to lift mine and put beefier tires on it since mine looks a little small and dinky on stock suspension. Thanks

Outback Lift / Rims & Tires Advice

My 2016 Outback has 162K miles on it. I bought it brand new and have absolutely loved it for the last almost 9 years. I'm considering passing it down to my stepson who is almost 16 for his first vehicle. However, before I do that, I want to explore how much it would cost to do what I've always wanted to do to it, which is lift it a little and put some off-road tires on it. If it isn't crazy expensive to do, I may want to keep it and just buy him something else. So if you've lifted yours, tell me exactly what you did, please. Pictures are also appreciated! I'm a woman with little knowledge of these things, so thank you in advance.

QUESTION All Terrain tires for 2003 Outback?

Looking for advice on a slightly larger than stock all terrain tire for my 03 outback. The General Grabber AT2 was really the only option I found that was sold in 215/65r16, which from what I’ve read is about as big as you can go without a lift while using stock wheels. The problem is, I can’t seem to find them for sale anywhere. Local tire shop can’t get them and I can’t find them online anymore.

It’s my daily but, also my road trip/camping vehicle so, it’s ends up in some situations at times where some aggressive tread and a little height gain would be nice. I recently bought the RoadOne Cavalry AT for my van and they’ve been great. Just not sure if they’re as good as general grabber or if they’re even sold in that size.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’d also love to give it a small lift if possible but, I’m not about to spend thousands to get there. I’ve heard of others using forester springs? Is that a horrible idea? lol

Lift kit

I didn’t really want to lift this outback but even after cutting everything I could, I’m still rubbing a bit on the pinch weld when I turn+hit a bump. Im on a real tight budget with this, will most likely just go with cheap strut spacers. Does anybody know how these will affect the camber? Do I need anything extra to correct for that? Thanks

i’ve been making this better. its got 235/75/15 kenda kr628’s now. some x ray vision australian HID’s and some amazon yellow led’s which are dumb bright for what they are. i put a holley gps speedo in it so now i have an odometer. ideally, i want all the gauges to work but my terminator x already has everything i need. next is a better light bar. my brackets for the outside two HID’s aren’t what i should have done. cheers.

For the amount of money I'm in, I couldn't be happier. Needs a new transmission mount, otherwise everything works 👍

We did a little bit of offroading in Michigan's Thumb to get our Christmas trees this year. This'll be the second year the Jeepreza has gotten tree retrieval duties instead of using one of my Broncos (as is tradition for my wife and I), but it hauled all three home just fine. (Trees were wrapped and properly strapped down for the ride home.)
