Theory about Biases Theory

So I’m a baby ARMY (around a month). When I discovered BTS, I was at home recovering from surgery. I’m an older ARMY (in my 40s). I quickly realized my bias - JIN. Now, I didn’t have anyone to talk to about my new obsession so I was bursting when I finally went back to work.

Luckily I work at a school, so I quickly found the ARMY pre-teens and we started gushing. I’ve never seen them so animated! They asked me who my bias was and I told them. They all shrieked in judgment and collectively tried to convince me that liking Jin is weird and that Jungkook was the ONLY one worth talking about. (Teenagers, LOL)

First of all, I was shocked bc I didn’t know how popular Jungkook was and that a Jin bias is a bit of a minority (maybe?). My solo discovery into the BTS realm led me to believe the only obvious bias was Jin.

During this hot discussion, I saw one girl jumping down my throat. I asked her what she thought. And in a totally serious tone says - “It makes sense that you like Jin, he’s the oldest one and you’re the oldest person at this school.” Brutal! She proceeds to tell me that older people like Jin and young people like Jungkook.

So tell me - is her theory true? Do you’ll think that younger ARMY lean towards Jungkook and older ones to Jin?

I think they're pre-teens and their frame of reference is very limited because when you've only lived 12 years you don't really have a lot of experience to go on. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm a 40+ ARMY and my bias is Jimin. I love Jin as my second bias but not just because he is closer to my age (I'm not into romantically stanning any of the boys because I feel so much older than them). I fell in love with Jin's personality after watching hours of BTS content. I love his carefree attitude, sense of humor, and caring personality. He reminds me that life isn't so serious and we should value our downtime.

Within the last 6 months I've come to appreciate Jungkook. He wasn't really on my radar as a bias but I feel like I've really got to understand his talent a lot more. It's hard to ignore JK when you are paying attention to Jin since they play around with each other so much. I see his appeal but I'm not expert to say that is appeals more to a younger generation. I feel like all 7 members appeal to a variety of ages.

Your analysis about Jin is spot on. And I’m developing a true appreciation for JK for exactly the same reasons you mention.

All of them just make me giggle. I think watching their interactions was my gateway into getting more into their music.

THANK YOU for reminding me of this... I really need to hear it and this is definitely one of my favorite things about Jin. He's like the ideal big brother to me :') Also the only member of BTS that I can technically call oppa lmaooo
