Hey all! I wanted to open up about my experiences getting top surgery as someone who’s fat and disabled. I don’t see too many bigger people talking about their experiences with gender affirming care so here I am!

I had double incision top surgery with free nipple grafts on 12/5/24 with Dr Brodie Parent in Pittsburgh, PA.

How is the recovery going? Pain management? Meds used? Cannabis?

I didn’t have much tits to begin with lmfao.

Recovery’s going good though! I have some nipple graft rejection, but otherwise good.

I was given Tylenol, ibuprofen, and oxy to rotate throughout the day but I only needed pain meds for the first week or so. So those on top of my 6 regular meds was a lot to handle!

I’m fully sober so no cannabis for me, but it’s known to slow down healing so I wouldn’t have taken it anyways.

Oh shit, good to know about it slowing down recovery. Does that apply to ingested, or is it just smoking? I imagine it would work the same for getting them put on as taken off. 🤣

From what I recall it’s any type of cannabis. Not sure if it applies to cbd and thc though. And thank you! I definitely feel better.
