Rules for this sub - Follow or your posts will be removed
Very simple rules
If you post a video you must include a good summary. If it’s a cooking video you must include the full recipe (not a link to the recipe). If it’s a food video you must include a summary of the video which has enough information for folks to decide if they want to watch.
If you don’t follow these rules you post will be removed and you’ll get a 7 day ban. Repeat violators will get longer and possible perm bans.
Thanks.

Help identifying herb
galleryHi all! I just bought this herb at my local market. It smells wonderful. A little peppery, a little citrusy. Can anyone help identify? Thanks in advance!

Best method of finding good asian food in new cities?
Hi everyone! I was wondering how people find good asian restaurants, especially when visiting new cities. I’ve been spending a lot of time in Boston and NYC, and it’s been kind of hit or miss finding good Chinese and other asian restaurants. What’s your go-to method for finding good places? Is it asking through friends, using Google Maps or Yelp, or just picking a place that looks good?

Stinky smell but reportedly not stinky tofu
I had a wok meal at Let's Wok in Markthal, Rotterdam, Netherlands. Something smelled mildly "stinky" in my dish, like a hint of stinky/fermented tofu, noticeable with each whiff, but the cash register lady said there was none, it was the same as the tofu in the Asian market nearby. She seemed sure so I forgot to ask the only other staff there, the cook, who was busy in the back. My question is what else in my dish may have produced the scent if the tofu truly wasn't fermented. My dish also had udon noodles, black pepper sauce, veggies (broccoli, baby corn, bamboo shoots, carrots, cucumber; pretty sure these weren't the source as they were all sitting raw in containers in front of me). I'm thinking either the tofu was at least a little fermented or something funky was up with the black pepper sauce. Any ideas? Here's the place: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fqQsJuYfZRfYGMev8
