AK newbie here. I just mounted the WBP optic mount to my WBP and I thought it is supposed to be aligned with the iron sights. Does my optic mount have issues or is it supposed to be like this? Low quality foto to give you an idea.

Zastava ZPAP M70 platform. Changed out everything except the barrel and safety selector.

Bought a cheap ish AK optic at a local gun show just now(so I’m not super bummed) but when I went to mount it on the AK, it has a lot of play… anybody know what a fix would be or where I could buy this part new that would sit flush? Thx.

Would a 10 round ac unity ak74 magazine work in a wbp 556 rifle without a 556 follower?

New AK owner here. I’ve been led to believe that they’re supposed to have loose tolerances but I’ve been told by a gunsmith that you’re not really supposed to strip them past the BCG super often because it can make the tolerances too lose. Can frequent disassembly cause excessive wear?

I bought a brand new Arsenal SLR-107F in ‘09 & I will never let her go. But I have always wondered 2 things: 1. The long flash hider instead of the traditional 74 style brake, & 2. Why is the included combloc sling so short that when attached & fully let out still won’t even fit over a helmeted head? Thanks for any advice

Ok to start off I’m a dumbass who does not know a lot about AKs. With a budget of $1,500 not including an optic I’m trying to decide between getting a parts kit or just buying an AK-104 off the shelf.

What I want: 12.5” CHF CL barrel Side folding receiver Maybe bulged trunnion

Attero arms optics mount AKM wood hand guard Ak-103 MB (which I’ll probably have cut cut a notch for) K2 grip Ribbed dust cover

For a parts kit I don’t really know what to look out for or even where to shop. I’m pretty close to the NGS Idaho guys so I’d probably have them build it but other than the “look” I’m going for with the ak and a couple parts I don’t really know what to buy. I’m a big fan of the look of bulged front trunnion but idk if that’s an AK-104 thing.

As for off the shelf options the PSA AK-104 GF5 is hitting a lot of the items I’m looking for and has an ALG trigger. $1200 with a folding brace on a pic rail but it has the folding mechanism ready to go if I SBR it.

I’ve heard great things about zastava but they don’t seem to make what I’m looking for. KUSA seems to have a rough recent track record and isn’t taking orders right now and Arsenal looks out of my budget. Other than PSA and KUSA who’s making 104s?

7.62 and 5.56 Meridian Pestilences. Yea I know they are overpriced, can build for cheaper, etc but they shoot so damn well so IDGAF.

If you replace the BCG and bolt itself/firing pin, which could be less than $200 for quality parts, you could have a great Ak for the price of a WBP jack right? Or am I dreaming?

Just got my jack 556 about a month ago took it out to shoot last weekend and couldn’t get my red dot zero’d was using a midwest industries mount my groupings were all over the place shooting bench rest at 25 yards had a moa of about 8 with 55 grain 223 FMJ 3240 FPS. Unhappy with how it shot last weekend I took it out today swapped out my optics mount with a rs regulate side rail thinking it was the mount. but I still had same problem with the grouping still at 25 yards it’s at about 6 moa using 556 55 grain and green top 62 grain Winchester. Both times shot bench rest as well, even tried just using irons. Can’t hit nothing farther than 35ish yards the rounds are just everywhere. As well all the casing leaving my gun are all dented is that a problem? does it have anything to do with my accuracy? Please help, this is my second ak my first one being a KUSA 103 that never gave me problems and I’m not too familiar with ak having problems like this anything helps thank you.

Took my AK to the range to sight it in and had my buddy on the binos calling my hits. This was at 50 yards and I couldn’t believe it shot like that without having to adjust it. I jerked the trigger once and that is the flier on the top left.

Never got mine from Smokies, so I decided to do it myself. It’s definitely not perfect, but not bad for a first attempt at leatherwork.

The mount seems like it would fit on an old kind of Picatinny/Weaver but way smaller. Reticle is similar to a PSO-1. On the other side is a radioactive symbol(red) and a wheel. Turning the wheel turns the scope completely black. Trying to upload more pics but can,t

Bought this brown bayonet at a pawn shop, it was labeled as a Chinese one. The black one came with my Norinco 84s and fits it and both my Sam 5 and Sam 7 aks. The brown one does not fit any of them, it will not slide over the wings for the mount to lock in. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe it isn't for an ak?

Instead of buying that next gun, buy more ammo!
