What is this food? "No Melt" Cheese???

Thumbnail gallery
109 Upvotes

Hey yall! I bought this cheese (not cheese?) like a year ago last minute from Family Dollar and didn't see "no melt" on the package until it literally would not change shape when heated up. I was going to put it on burgers but it weirded me out too much so I didn't. I tried to look it up but couldn't find specifically "no melt cheese" online. Forgot about it but found it again recently and took a picture to prove that it existed and I hadn't made it up.

Sooooooo why doesn't it melt? And why would you not want cheese to melt/what is it for? Its not even called cheese at all so like...what is it?

Was playing some games and saw this as someone's profile pic and my friends and I are curious what exactly the name of the food is. In my searching I couldn't find anything very close to this

What is this drink? Where can you still purchase this or the closest thing to it?

I’m desperate here… I’ve been trying to find a way to purchase this drink again for over a decade without success.

As a kid this was my favorite drink, but the closest I’ve been able to find in recent years is the “lite” version.

If anyone knows where you can ship these from or what the closest thing you’ve found to it, I would be forever grateful.

Looking for the recipe Lemon Caper Radicchio Sauce

Post image
13 Upvotes

I went to an Italian restaurant yesterday and had an appetizer dish that consisted of fried mozzarella in a lemon caper radicchio sauce. The sauce was absolutely incredible, and I would love to try to make it myself. However I can't seem to find a similar recipe for it. I've found various variations of a lemon caper sauce but none that incorporate radicchio, and no real consistency between the recipes as to what ingredients should be used. Is this a well known sauce recipe, or some sort of a "secret" or family recipe used at the restaurant?

What is this food? “Chinese jello”

Decades ago, as a kid, I had something called “Chinese jello.” It was a tiny cup of jello that you ate in a bite or two directly out of the cup. It had a tiny white cube floating in the middle- maybe a piece of lychee but I’m really not sure. I’ve never been able to find them again and I’m not sure how accurate this name even is. Does this ring a bell to anyone?

What is this food? Delicious chocolate that we can’t figure the name of

My friend received these chocolates at work. Dark chocolate on the outer shell, top section of chopped nut with softer, thick layer of dark ganache (?). We’re unsure how to describe in a better way as each is different, but all have the nuts at the top. Thank you!!

What is this food? I’m here to talk about sour soup.

Hello friends! I’m so curious to know, have you had sour soup? It’s a Christmas tradition in my family to make a massive pot of it. Main ingredients include sour kraut and its juice, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, paprika. My family has always drained the broth from the veggies and served it with tiny square pasta. It’s a bright orange/red broth.

I am a big lover of food, have been in the restaurant industry since I could. Soup is one of my favorite things and this dish is especially meaningful as it’s at least on its fourth generation of it being made every Christmas. Passed down from my baba, I’ve been told it may be a Hungarian recipe. However, I’m not too sure of that and would love for anyone to possibly shed some light on its possible origins as well as any sort of tradition as to when this soup would be served. It’s been a question in my mind since the day I first tried this delicious, tangy soup.

I’ve also yet to meet anyone that has heard about this soup outside of my immediate family. It’d be lovely to hear of someone that does.

What is this food? UK costcutters sweet and sour pork balls ‘ready meal’ discontinued?

Around 2007-2010 ish, costcutters UK used to sell this prepackaged pork balls with sweet and sour sauce but it wasn’t costcutters branded, and I’ve been looking for it for years. Does anyone remember this or know the brand?

I think the packaging had a photo on it with like a orange or yellow tab

It’s niche and probably not that nice to everyone else bc I like cheap tasting sauces 😔

Got it from a cheap sushi/Chinese type restaurant unlabelled. Soft, almost tofu or egg like texture, more flavour than expected, spring onion and carrot visible.

What is this food? Confectionary/Cookies resembling a shortbread, but softer and more starch-y. Found at an Iranian grocery store with little to no info on the packaging, also came in a smaller ball-shaped form

What is this food? sunflower shaped snack with honey and PeanutButter

I remember as a kid (I'm 22 now) my grandpa would come home from the gas station with a big fake sunflower head in a bag, the edges were sunflower seeds (I think) and the middle was (I think) a mixture of honey and peanut butter, but it looked a lot like a sunflower and I think there was a sunflower logo on the bag maybe, it wasn't just loose seeds which is all I'm finding, it was almost like a large tear-able cookie

Smells overwhelmingly of cinnamon, but maybe that's just the mix itself. Hard and brittle.

Looking for the recipe Specific Japanese chocolate?

Not sure if this is the proper subreddit but my boyfriend got these chocolates from Mitsuwa marketplace about 2 years ago , they were a hard chocolate square with matcha inside. But we haven’t been able to find them since we went there that one time. I’ve checked H-Mart, 99 ranch, Teso Life, and Daiso—but we haven’t been able to find the exact same chocolate. I settled on getting him these truffles matcha chocolate with the same, like, format but not the actual item itself.

What is this food? Salty grain from Kansas?

In first grade, we did a Flat Stanley thing where we’d mail a paper version of ourselves to family and have them send it back with pictures and items from wherever they live. A classmate of mine sent his to his extended family in Kansas, and they sent it back with a package of some sort of grain snack from a local shop. We all got to try some, I remember it being really salty and kind of crunchy, I liked it a lot. Does anyone know what this could’ve been? I believe they were in Wichita.

Looking for the recipe Chicken wing recipe (no picture I'm sorry)

When I was a teenager my dad was friends with a coworker who made these delicious chicken wings, and he told me how to make them a single time, but of course I forgot most of it. Unfortunately family drama ensued and that bridge is burned, so he would not be willing to give me the recipe.

Anyway, the description: I remember they were both baked and grilled, the sauce was made from scratch, and they were spicy. He once made them with ghost pepper and the taste did not seem to change, only the amount of spice. He did not regularly make them with ghost pepper, though. The sauce for sure had ketchup in it, and it may have had dijon mustard but I'm a bit unsure about that. The flavor overall was very slightly sweet under the spice, like a mix between barbecue and hot sauce, and the texture of the sauce was a little bit sticky like a typical homemade barbecue sauce. The color was a reddish brown. Please feel free to ask for clarification, it will help jog my memory and I will work with anyone willing to attempt to help. Sorry it's not much to work with

What is this drink? Korean iced milk coffee?

I used to go to a Korean BBQ restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia. At the end of every meal, they would serve a cup of iced milk coffee. It was delicious. Slightly sweet and a tinge creamy.

Does anyone know what it’s called? Or how to make it? Is this a typical thing to serve in Korea after a meal? All I know is that I love it and crave it!

Solved! I don’t have a pic, just a description

In middle school I went out with this girl and her dad. It wasn’t American cuisine. I remember him recommending the dish, and ordering it for me, I don’t know the name. He described it as cut up pig organs and all, in like a blood soup. And that’s pretty much what it was. Chopped up pig, with this yummy blood soup. It was all red. I remember it being very good

I have no idea what it is but I had 4 pieces. The crust is softer than a tart, tastes a bit more similar to shortbread. Filling is comparable to a more solid custard maybe. Would love to recreate myself at home!

Possibly Solved Boxed microwavable pizza from the 2000s with cube shaped pepperonis?

I've been searching for this type of pizza for ages. They were small microwavable circular pizzas that had tiny cube pepperonis on them that were sold in cardboard boxes at Walmart in the 2000s. I think it was two pizzas per box but I could be wrong. Inside the box, each pizza would be wrapped in plastic and have this grey circular cardboard or something on the bottom.

Extra context that occurred to me: These pizzas had really tough crusts compared to the rest of the pizza, I remember leaving the crusts most of the time as a kid due to this.

They were not bite-sized, they were more the size of one's hand roughly.

Solved! Saw this in a random reddit video and wanna know what it is.

I was on YouTube shorts (I trying to prep a yt account for the tiktok ban) and saw this. The video was completely unrelated but I'll link it below so you can see the food better. It's only at the first couple of seconds and doesn't feature it again. I didn't know if I should flair what is this food or looking for a recipe. If there is a recipe I would really appreciate it but since this is just random B-roll I wouldn't be surprised if there is no recipe or name for this.
