If Jod was smart, he’d use the mint ship to fake being a Republic emissary and just collect more credits whenever he needed them. There is literally no need to steal them with force.

Jod’s greed got the better of him the moment he betrayed the kids. He could’ve simply returned them and asked for a reward and he would’ve been filthy rich. Instead, he wanted all the money and is in over his head now.
