The only way Jod can be redeemed is if he finds out At Attin is funding the new First Order/Empire and after an Order 66 flashback, he destroys the credits somehow without destroying the planet. But still manages to take enough credits for himself because pirate.

But it's looking like he's a straight-up villain.

However, I thought there were plans to expand on this character as you don't hire someone like Jude Law for nothing. Guess we'll see next week.

Oooo i love this. But also the killed Diego Luna off in his first movie then he got the series giving us the whole backstory of Andor.

I care way more about Jods past than his future. That would be a great series showing us how tf he got to be who he is.

I have my doubts. The whole "an emissary has arrived" scene gave me vibes of "this has not happened for 5000 years".

Besides, he is masking as a Republic emissary. Of course, the Empire could have done so too, but I don't see them using that much subtlety. If the Empire had found the planet they'd throw a few hundred AT-ATs on it and turned the populace into mint-working slaves immediately.

If he stays villain, maybe he slips away and becomes a recurring antagonist for future New Republic stories, allowing them to keep using Jude Law. It would fit the Long John Silver reference, since Silver escapes at the end of Treasure Island.

It'd be cool to have Luke meet a former Jedi who's been disillusioned so badly that they became a greedy wretch.
