Yep, but if I had to choose between Vance or Tulsi for president, I’d choose Tulsi personally. Maybe I’ll change my mind if Vance does well as VP, but as for now I feel as if Tulsi is better equipped to lead the nation.
Fair enough. But JD will have 4 years under his belt as VP; if he wins Trump’s confidence, that’s enough for me. I am struck by his level of intellect, in a sea of really dumb politicians (worked on The Hill for ten years, a lot of members are borderline brain damaged — one or two technically are brain damaged).
Vance was my personal selection when I saw the half dozen or so contenders, so I’m biased. He’s not without criticism, but it did occur to me that Trump selected the only actual deplorable in the running for the VP sweepstakes. And this matters, because I wanted someone who would “get” working class, rural America.
I think we have a better bench than the Democrats. Time will tell.
That is a fair assessment. I was at first weary of Vance when Trump first picked him because he was relatively unknown, but so far I have been pleasantly surprised by his performance and ability to carry himself in debates and interviews. He’s down to earth, and no-nonsense. My only real gripe with him is that he seems a bit too “old school republican” and less MAGA than I’d like but still he’s far better than most in the GOP. I’ll be watching his performance over the next 4 years. As you said, we have a great bench, we have a lot of real contenders for the 2028 presidency so maybe I’m spoiled for choice!

Why would Vance go from Trump’s VP to Gabbard’s VP? That’s fantasy football my dude. Zero percent chance.
