Switching Dorm Rooms

I was going to apply to switch from a Buxton triple to a Buxton double (or any engineering LLC double) for no reason other than I feel cramped, and I was wondering what my odds were of getting it on the sooner side of things, assuming I fill the application out asap. Does anyone have any experience with this?
