Not to mention most 5 years olds can’t see the top shelf and why is this pervert bringing a 5 year old down this aisle? Let me guess the pharmacy shouldn’t sell condoms either? I guarantee this 5 year old has access to the internet which is 10millions times worse than this.

Right?? Why are you lifting up your 5 year old so they can view the sex toys ya fuckin weirdo

Both of you guys are underestimating 5 year olds.

LMAO, I think the OP complaint is kind of prudish, but it's funny seeing comments as stupid as "5 year olds can't look up."

Average 5 year old is 42-48 inches tall and most shelving units in stores are over 6ft tall so please tell me how that child is reading this or even looking up there and could understand what they are seeing ?

Well, admittedly I only have experience with my kids, who do not suffer from severe, crippling, mental disabilities, so perhaps my experience is unique.

However, my kids will generally take a couple steps back and tilt their head up, and/or roll their eyeballs up slightly to look at things that are taller than them.

I realize that I am lucky, and my kids learned to do this on their own, and other kids biologically related to the average Reddit user may not have the mental capacity to learn this one neat trick on their own.

Idk I can see things two feet above me.

The fact that you're being downvoted and the person above you is being upvoted makes me wonder about the average intelligence of Reddit users.

They’re mad cause 5 year olds have a neck. I’m sure it really will surprise them when I tell them that they can also climb.

Imagine basing your argument around letting a child climb the shelves in a fucking pharmacy.

You people crack me up.

Methinks mayhaps you misunderstood me, I don’t have any argument here or side with anyone. I just was saying these guys seriously underestimate a child’s ability to be chaos incarnate.

It'll really blow their minds when they find out the sex toy aisle at CVS isn't so huge that it fully occupies both sides of the aisle and therefore there would be no reason for someone to be in that aisle to purchase something else with their kids.

It’s insane on how people want the world bubble wrapped because they have children but have no clue how to be good parents.

u/Low-Farmer-8638 4d ago

What does that have to do with my comments?

I was literally just at CVS, holding my kid in my arms cause he wanted to be picked up, and we both had a direct line of sight to the sex toys in the isle over.

Oh no! He might’ve seen those! Or condoms! Or tampons!!!!!

I’m not clutching my pearls over it, I’m just saying it’s not invisible just because it’s at the top of the shelf.

What is brutal ratio?

2

u/MRosvall 4d ago

Used to mean that a reply got more recognition than the original post. That the ratio of "likes" was in disfavor for the OP.

Then I guess it just devolved into meaning "A hot reply".
But in the above case the original meaning would apply.

I like how half the comments are like it’s not a big deal if kids see these and the others are it’s impossible for kids to see these and you’re a shitty parent if they do.

3

u/wbruce098 4d ago

It’s not just sex toys and condoms, but also pads, diapers, etc.

I’m not saying it’s wrong, but I can see how a parent would need to go down this aisle and feel a tad awkward. But any grocery store or pharmacy/target/walmart/whatnot probably has all of these items in the same aisle. So this isn’t something worth outrage.

If its anything like my stores these are sold right above the pads and tampons so there is no perversion there. It's all put in the same hygiene products aisle.

Also condoms have been there for forever but no one freaks out over those being read.

Exactly! it’s parents who want the world to be bubble wrapped for their kids instead of just being a parent.

Tbf, the “sexual wellness” section isn’t an aisle to itself; there’s probably like diapers or whatnot also sold in the same aisle.

Those top shelves aren't touching the ceiling. And yes 5 year olds can tilt their heads up and see what's in the top shelves in a pharmacy store. Most of the shelves aren't higher than 5ft tall. And the average height of 5 year olds is just under 4ft tall. So why are people like yourself making it like 5 years are incapable of simply looking up or at an angle 8-12 inches away is impossible? 😂

And condoms are different from butt plugs and clitoral stimulators. Also the packaging of condoms are pretty dull in coloring and also meant to be a bit discreet. The sex toys in this post are in colorful packaging that's meant to draw people in. The colors aren't discreet and are meant to lure in younger people.

The sex toys in this post are in colorful packaging that's meant to draw people in. The colors aren't discreet and are meant to lure in younger people especially with words like Cake and Buzzy and Little Sucker. It's a basic marketing tactic. And because it's on the higher shelf it's still within the sight line or line of sight of persons under 5ft including children.

Speaking of height...can adult little people not see and read things on the pharmacy's top shelves?
