Wow, this is so deeply satisfying to see. It’s spiraling much faster than I anticipated & we are all being fed

u/CommanderSincler 1d ago

Yeah, I hope the next 4 years are just those dipshits spitting on each other so much they don't accomplish a thing and they end up leaving the rest of us alone

Looking at Trump’s cabinet picks, I’d be shocked if they could manage something as simple as changing a lightbulb. Their ridiculous goals are hard enough for competent officials to pull off, so with Trump’s team, I doubt they’ll get much done.

Mass deportation? Not a chance. It’s an insanely complex and expensive task that demands proper planning and logistics, which require smart, capable people—something his administration isn’t known for. Honestly, he’s more likely to deport a bunch of Americans by mistake than achieve anything close to his promises.

The next administration will face a colossal task trying to clean up after Trump. That’s assuming there’s even a federal government left to fix after the circus he’s running. Add to that the infighting in the MAGAverse and Elon Musk being his usual self, and it’s not hard to imagine the whole thing collapsing into an unfixable mess.

u/da2Pakaveli 1d ago

Trump will just tell his followers that that lightbulb was changed and they'll be there clapping for him in the dark.

37

u/namjeef 1d ago

DING DING DING DING

literally all he has to do is tell them they deported one gorillion immigrants and they’ll sing his praises.

20

u/wdaloz 1d ago

I dunno, maybe trump knows he can't change a light bulb but knows the followers want it changed. So you get someone incompetent to blame when they can't do it, say it was blocked by the other team somehow, and yell about how you're the only one who can get it changed if only "they" stopped getting in the way

People are downvoting you because they're reading this as a "no u" response, but if you're left of center at all and care about real progressive policy passing then you know the Democrats absolutely pull this crap all the time to get out of actually governing and doing things they said they would

7

u/pirat314159265359 1d ago

I don’t downvote much, but if someone links an article and doesn’t post it or have a link with paywall removed they get downvoted.

1

u/Poncahotas 1d ago

There wasn't a link originally when I commented, that was added after mine

1

u/pirat314159265359 23h ago

No worries. Also ftr I did not downvote you

u/Duke_Newcombe 1d ago

Or essentially he'll employ the "seagull method" of change: swoop in, knock things over, take massive dumps, and fly off, crowing, like he's accomplished something.

Unfortunately he and his cabal will move fast and break things, and do patently illegal and unlawful things, hurting people, even if ultimately they'll fail or can be counteracted. The damage for some of them, like family separations, The ultimate disposition of the Palestinian people, or providing this nation's secrets to hostile third party nations will be permanent.

This is such an underrated comment. Pure poetry! Wish I could give you a award, please accept this one in its place 🥇

1

u/Small-Tumbleweed-585 1d ago

Hot damn, what a comment!

125

u/Dyn0might33 1d ago

Don't forget all the children lost due to family separation and lack of records. Doing it poorly is not the same as not doing it at all.

14

u/ToughCareer4293 1d ago

Darkness is the new light! And he’ll sell them special glasses to see🙄

3

u/KittonRouge 1d ago

Glasses to match the sneakers!

2

u/ToughCareer4293 1d ago

😂 he’ll rebrand his sneakers to be just like the ones toddlers wear that light up when they walk

7

u/Duke_Newcombe 1d ago

It scarcely matters when the cruelty is the point, in and of itself. Whether or not it ultimately gets reversed or ruled unconstitutional, damage is done.

4

u/No-Broccoli-5932 1d ago

Still over 1,000 kids out there never reunited with their families.

2

u/Dyn0might33 22h ago

Breaks my heart. Unspeakable acts of evil.

1

u/powertotheuser 2h ago

Like, WHERE ARE THE FUCKING CHILDREN??? A Conpervative trafficking ring.

45

u/gingerfawx 1d ago

First and foremost, mass deportation is mass incarceration, and that can be privatized, earning some billionaires still more money. Then, having stripped certain industries of their workers, they can sell the incarcerees' services back to those industries for still more win, much like we do with our jails.

This is how you get mass slave labor, and it's scary AF.

20

u/Silver996C2 1d ago

That selling back incarcerated people’s services is exactly what the SS did during WW2…

18

u/gingerfawx 1d ago

They were going to send them all to Madagascar, doncha know... I wonder what lie tre45on will sell.

2

u/theaviationhistorian 20h ago

And intend to ship a bunch of them to a nation with inherent discrimination to prove our point that nobody wants them.

8

u/unsaphisticated 1d ago

Private prisons are already doing mass slave labor

10

u/laundryghostie 1d ago

Legal slave labor from migrants in camps and innocent people being put in jail is exactly what I am afraid of! I can see the Trump Administration turning the midwest into a giant goulog.

5

u/WaterQk 21h ago

Yup I just read an article in the Wall Street Journal the other day about how private prison corporations are licking their chops about this

30

u/CatProgrammer 1d ago edited 1d ago

The issue with making light of that stuff is that not being able to accomplish their goals is not the same as them not causing harm in the process. Incompetent people can do a ton of damage beyond just organizational without guardrails to keep them contained.

16

u/emergency-snaccs 1d ago

Results don't matter. I've read up on the impending plans, and tRump intends to do a big show of rounding up and deporting, but for just that.... a show, a photo op. What happens after that, whether it's effective or not, doesn't matter, as long as he gets his photos. Not surprising in the least. Remember that time he tear-gassed american citizens so he could go get some pics in front of a church?

8

u/Jaded-Moose983 1d ago

I agree that diaper-boy cares only about the photo op. That leaves the rest of the villains in his new cabinet and their motivations which includes ensuring a white, christian nation. IMO the last several censuses showing a trend of Eastern European decendants slowing losing ground as the catalyst for the hate driving these policies.

16

u/Apprehensive-Log8333 1d ago

The prison industrial complex is really excited about mass deportations. I think an attempt will be made.

14

u/Frosty-Cap3344 1d ago

I honestly expect him to ask the public to help with the identification, rounding-up and deportations, and they will

10

u/Jaded-Moose983 1d ago

I take it you didn't hear Tom Homan's (new border Czar* ) comments to the affect of; "if we have to go into communities to find the bad guys, we'll take the good guys they are hanging around with at the same time".

* Why the heck do we use this term for US governmental positions?

7

u/Frosty-Cap3344 1d ago

And if the good guys hanging around with them are 100% certified Americans where are they being depoterd to ?

The whole thing is just bat-shit crazy, he'll never manage to do any of this.

1

u/stackjr 1d ago

Yeah, they can't deport US citizens which makes this all that much funnier but also that much more terrifying. If the orange turd tries to go through with this it is going to be complete chaos.

1

u/Lady_Beemur8910 14h ago

This country has been "accidentally" deporting naturalized and birthright/native citizens for over a century. 😌

11

u/blastedt 1d ago edited 1d ago

You're assuming that they're going to do the things they say they're going to do. Yes, mass deportation is hard, but basically every mass deportation campaign in history turns into a mass killing campaign in two to three business days and that's a lot easier.

11

u/RusstyDog 1d ago

more likely to deport a bunch of Americans by mistake

I like clowning on them, but let's not act like this isn't the actual goal here.

6

u/arrivederci117 1d ago

It's not like he's even trying to hide it either. He flat out said any citizens who participated in Gaza demonstrations will be deported regardless of their legal status. People are deluding themselves if they think he's just playing around on the deportation stuff. If there's one thing he's been consistent about, it's his hatred towards minorities. It might not reach the scale he envisioned, but his administration will probably do a pretty good job on that issue. The wall and healthcare on the other hand...

2

u/RusstyDog 1d ago

To move even a fraction of the people he wants to, they will need camps to keep them while being processed. They will be to chicken shit to call them what they are, concentration camps

1

u/theaviationhistorian 20h ago

The mass deportations will really cripple the US economy, look at how the Latino boycott of Florida has harmed its construction and trucking there. But the most important bit is that the United States cannot leave a person stateless and cannot deny a US citizen entry back home. Doing either gives grounds for lawsuits that can damage the US by up to 5 to 6 figures per person.

1

u/RusstyDog 20h ago

Lawsuits are meaningless in this context.

10

u/WhiskyEchoTango 1d ago

They'll get mass deportations done. If you want it done right, sure, it will be a logistical nightmare. But you know their approach is going to be armed squads of 'militia' rounding up anyone who looks brown, tossing them in the back of rented uhauls, and dumping them in Mexico.

7

u/Vrse 1d ago

The top person doesn't need to be competent. Elon Musk taught us that. They'll just sit at the top, raking in money and being a mouthpiece. It's the nameless masses of cronies that the Federalist Society have hand-picked that worry me.

5

u/douchey_mcbaggins 1d ago

I feel like the next administration taking over is going to be like someone buying a house at auction from a bank that squatters lived in for 4 years. "Oh, for fuck's sake, where do we even start with this?"

0

u/theaviationhistorian 20h ago

And it's be a squabble among the renovators on what should be addressed first while some of them are secretly siphoning the rebuilding money on personal luxury items.

7

u/newinmichigan 1d ago

Lmao, its hard for you because you want to do the job right without as much collateral damage as possible. Its like finding a needle in a haystack by carefully shifting through the pile.

Trump and his cronies will simply set the whole barn on fire and then find the needle thats left from the ashes.

6

u/DurangDurang 1d ago

We asked a MAGA relative how they thought mass deportations would work. He said, ‘Send the cops to every Home Depot parking lot and round them up.’ JFC…

3

u/StellaStewieStanley 1d ago

He does have smart people that he is nominating for important positions. The person that is going to be in charge of deportations should not be underestimated.

3

u/StormyOnyx 1d ago

Yeah, those are two egos too big to exist in the same space. It's going to implode eventually.

5

u/Copacetic4 1d ago

To be fair, the Secretaries of State and Commerce seem to be fairly reasonable people even by normal standards.

Assuming nobody does anything too crazy, which is not much of a guarantee anymore.

Although the Defence nominee(and most of the others) are just plain weird

9

u/whereistheidiotemoji 1d ago

Rubio is ineffective and lazy as senator. Don’t expect that to improve now.

2

u/Love_my_pupper 1d ago

And the next administration will be blamed

2

u/KittonRouge 1d ago

The inevitable fall out between Trump and Musk will be the stuff that legends are made of.

2

u/thisguytruth 22h ago

you forgot how bad it was 2016-2020. trump's admin got a lot of shitty things done

1

u/theaviationhistorian 20h ago

I feel this will be a stupid shitshow. Everything he promised requires rewriting a lot of the Constitution, billions of liquidity to burn through, and an absolute disinterest about global trade. The war between ideology & profit will be very fascinating to see and I also hope that our government still exists when this is all over & not in a deep Great Depression.

1

u/Ambitious_Click6323 19h ago

During the Great Depression J Edgar Hoover’s FBI deported over a million Latinos. Problem was, record keeping being what it was in the 1930’s, a lot of Americans who didn’t have the proper paperwork got deported too. Any time the economy has faced serious challenges the response has been to deport/blame immigrants. Then when the economy improves the workers are welcomed back since they’re needed.

1

u/Theblokeonthehill 17h ago

He hasn’t even taken office yet and the wheels are falling off the mass deportations thing. Leon and his mates are protesting that there needs to be an exception for tech workers. How long will it be before exceptions are sought by every other employer that relies on immigrants. It is going to be a massive shit show.

1

u/Scottiths 4h ago

Just an FYI, the Nazis started out wanting mass deportations too. They found out it was insanely complex and expensive so they decided it was just easier to murder everyone instead ...

5

u/The360MlgNoscoper 1d ago

I hope that shit hits the fan so fast that the administration doesn’t even last a year.

6

u/ThorKonnatZbv 1d ago

Just spitting? You are too generous, they should live out their fantasies and their AR15 worship and shoot at each other

17

u/NotAzakanAtAll 1d ago

Or.. the Oligarchy wins and both Republicans and Democrats are out in the cold.

Wouldn't that be a twist?

It wouldn't be.

31

u/Peakomegaflare 1d ago

Look, I'm hoping they spend the whole time infighting. No progress is better than moving backward.

19

u/RocketRelm 1d ago

Republicans welcomed the oligarchy into their party to rule them. If they lose everything, I don't know whether that qualifies as them 'out in the cold' or 'mutating into the monster'. Partly because if we're talking about "what republicans used to be", they already morphed into maga and abandoned all their principles long ago.

1

u/unsaphisticated 1d ago

They are the oligarchy lmao

3

u/seppukucoconuts 1d ago

I read the book Landslide, which talked about a lot of the end of Trump's first presidency. Aside from how flatulent rudy giuliani is, the author spent time talking about how Trump went out of his way to create chaos in his cabinet and his meetings. He liked to pit people against each other and have them yell at each other.

3

u/Laterose15 1d ago

They literally have full run of the government and they won't be able to get anything done because they'll be having dick measuring contests.

3

u/2nd_Chances_ 1d ago

that's the best case scenario but the rest of us becoming collateral damage is scary

3

u/Brilliant_Growth 1d ago

I saw a post saying it’s like when the T-Rex was too busy eating the raptors at the end of Jurassic Park so the people escaped

3

u/Kriegerian 1d ago

Yeah, that’s basically what it was the first time. Despite all the rhetoric from the fascists, they didn’t accomplish all that much besides cutting taxes for the rich and putting a bunch of unhinged Christian freaks on judicial benches.

Trump is an incompetent moron who hires other incompetent morons, freaks, criminals and simps, while setting them against each other so he can play the big decider. He’s going to loot as much as he can and allow a bunch of drooling perverts, sadists and thieves to do as much as they can get away with before being too publicly embarrassing, but that’s about it.

3

u/Canotic 22h ago

There's a recurring theme in a lot of Stephen King books that evil is inherently self defeating because evil always turns on itself. It's great to see it play out in real time.

2

u/ZeekLTK 1d ago

Yeah, the one good thing about him having no values or morals or even a basic platform is that everyone trying to use him for their own gains has a hard time getting a grip on it because he literally doesn’t care about anything these people who are behind him care about.

If we are lucky, he will spend his entire presidency playing golf again and only occasionally giving these groups like one small thing they want just to keep them happy, before going back to just ignoring them again. Religious nuts want him to do all this biblical stuff, xenophobes want him to go after immigrants, incels want him to hurt women’s rights, etc. and all he cares about is not going to prison and going golfing, so they are all duking it out with each other to try to be first in line when he does give someone a small bit of attention.
