Always donors. They know voters will eventually make whatever excuse they need to to retcon their memory of this.

The conservative's allegiance is to money, power, and self. They see voters as a resource, not as people. A means to an end rather than the end itself. It will always be the donors.

Most of them are at least millionaires. Unlike their base they won't act against their self-interest.

Donors. They're only afraid of their voters when the orange messiah is on the table but if someone like Elon is against him or just slightly critizicing him you know who they'll choose.
