Also, if we're talking about a meritocracy without safety nets, why the fuck wouldn't you be trying to give yourself unfair advantages and stop everyone below you from climbing the ladder? Like I'm going to voluntarily go live under a bridge just because you're 10% better at my job so it's "fair" that you take it?
That's what these dumbasses don't seem to grasp - there will never be meritocracy unless there are mechanisms to catch the people when they fall. Sabotaging other people from succeeding is a hell of a lot easier than becoming the best and staying there.

Someone better let her know that 'meritocracy' is automatically anything that benefits them, and 'DEI' is automatically anything that doesn't.
