As a supporter of the labour movement faction of the NDP I can say this was a pretty big surprise to everyone even outside of the LPC.

There was a lot of rumor talk about the Trudeau - Freeland - Carney dynamic this last year but this way about going about things is still shocking to say the least.

I may not be a LPC supporter but I realize politics in Canada is best served by healthy and well functioning parties.

I don't want echo chambers, political tribalism, and gang level loyalty. I want robust, dialectical, and sometimes tough discussions to sharpen, broaden, and deepen policy to the benefit of all Canadians.

Especially our working class and the vulnerable segments as an NDP supporter.

I may not be a supporter of the party but I hope the LPC can start sorting things out for the benefit of the political process for all Canadians.

I think it speaks to Trudeau's willingness to drive his party straight into the ground instead of listening to his party and Canadians that clearly no longer have the same appetite for his leadership that we did a decade ago.
