I'm looking at going to TRU next year (and living on campus). I see I would be in walking distance of grocery stores etc but I'm wondering if it's still possible to maintain a fairly outdoorsy life without a car in Kamloops? At the moment I don't take the bus and I e-bike everywhere. I live in Victoria though, so I know it is very different for biking here, but I've also lived in Langley and enjoyed bike commuting to high school on the side of Glover road (kind of a highway with a small shoulder).

Anyone know if one is going down this year and if so, where??

I am new to town and I am looking for places to just put my skis and skins on and get time on my feet nearby. Is there anywhere close to town where you can just skin around. Any routes near Harper or maybe towards Lac Le Jeune or something? Just something quick and easy to get to. I know the closest places for some real backcountry skiing is the Coquihalla or towards Revelstoke.

Anyone know of anywhere that does Salsa dancing classes for adults here? I've seen Lindy in the Loops for swing but we're looking more for Salsa. I know before COVID hit there were a few kicking around Kamloops. Are there any other more casual drop in dance classes for people who have busy schedules other than Lindy in the Loops?

Recently, while I've been out and about in town, I often have full bars but am unable to use data at all. Sometimes I can turn my phone on and off airplane mode and that fixes it, but not always.

I thought this was an issue with my phone specifically, but I have encountered at least three other people with the same issue, all using a variety of providers.

Is anyone else having this issue lately? If so, I wonder what could be causing it.

Hi guys i am a 23-yr old Indian international student who has gotten into TRU for Fall 2025 semester i was wondering if you guys could help understand the city it's hotspots, job market and dating life, should i stay at TRU's campus i was thinking to take the "west gate " dormitories. Also how is the condition there for international students from India as recently there have been many incidents .

I was with my dad the other day picking up a christmas tree. Once we got back to his place we were taking out the tree and one of his neighbors (he lives in a gated community in aberdeen) let his dog out. The dog started to chase after a car and looked like it was going to be hit. My dad and I started whistling at it trying to get it's attention. The dog turned to look at us and ran towards me. I just thought it would jump up on me and wag it's tail like every other dog I've ever interacted with but to my surprise, I lunged at me and bit me on the leg about 3 times and ended up biting my boot 4-5 times. The dog tore my jeans and ended up giving me a contusion. Luckily for me, my father is a retired physician so I was able to get proper medical attention and advice right on the scene.

The question I have is, what sort of action should I take? I'm not sure what I'm allowed to do or what I should do in this situation. I'm not even sure who would take care of issues like this.
