Will 40 quintillion gazillion EUR per month be enough for Spain?
I want to move to Spain since I do not like the working culture of my native country and prefer to the postcard life like you guys do, partying every night and spending the whole day in a siesta.
Wikipedia says that the average monthly salary in Spain is 1.9k euros, but I'd rather flex on you guys and conceal my obvious lack of any kind of research under the guise of a bad-faith inocent question.
Also I am very horny and have fetishized you people so much. Your women are so hot. I want to fuck spanish girls. I am 1.95m fit, muscular and charismatic, will they find me attractive? Safety worries me because I am LGTBQ+. Most statistics say that Spain is one of the most tolerant western countries in that regard, but my mate Paul told me it is also a catholic country. How many homophobic beatings should I expect every day?
I will be arriving to Seville tomorrow. Is it better if I learn catalan or spanish? (I will do neither and instead stick to english speaking communities).
Travel websites are forbidden in my home countryand have never heard of a travel agency so you will have to plan my whole trip for me. I want to know which hidden-gem cities should I visit while in Spain. By hidden-gem I mean Barcelona, Madrid and Seville, places nobody besides a true spaniard would know of.
Finally I will not accept any kind of negative criticism. You guys simply don't understand economics, I'm not forcing the locals to move away from the place they grew up in by indirectly contributing to the constant increase in housing prices due to having a much higher disposable income and paying less in taxes (Thank you Beckham, best spanish politician of 21st century!). I am actually increasing consumption and helping the economy :)
Grasias y una servesa por favor

Opinions Trenes all the way
This evening, I’ve had the worst experience bouncing between Renfe not accepting my phone number to register no matter what tricks I tried and Trainline failing to secure Renfe tickets on repeat.
Worry no more, trenes.com took care of all of these issues. I think it might be my new favorite way to book train tickets in Spain. The app is fabulous, too.

Opinions Best Spain trip essentials? // mejor Spain viaje lo esencial ?
I’ll be taking a 8 day trip this spring break as part of a class trip. Well be traveling to about every big time city and won’t be anywhere super long. I was wondering what are some fun/ interesting places I should visit that won’t take up my whole day?
I’m already planning on visiting as many cathedrals as I can, and I’ve heard the churros are great, but what’s re some other yummy Spain dishes I should try? And what are some interesting/beautiful places I should visit.
I love architecture and nice nature settings but I wanna visit some cool and unique Spanish shops, and hopefully interact with some Spanish culture, so I’m down to anything.
Thank you // gracias !

Alguien sabe?

Spain and Portugal Trip with once in a lifetime things to do
I am going to Europe in July to run with the bulls! We will be in Spain and Portugal for 10-14 days. Besides this one particular experience, l'm looking for other unique/ interesting experiences, opportunities and sights... things where you tell a story and people are like "Wow you did that? That's awesome!" I can of course find the typical stuff easily like visit sagrada and party in Ibiza but help me find some more exciting/wild stuff!
Lisbon, Seville, Madrid, Barcelona and Pamplona are the main spots on the itinerary so far. I’m willing to add or other spots, make stops, or branch out!

Family friendly restaurants with good food, Madrid Spain
Headed to Madrid soon with husband and our under 5 year old. Would love some recommendations for restaurants that are family friendly with good food. Like good quality food, not looking for fast food or large chain options. Can be on the nicer side, if it’s a place where bringing a child isn’t entirely out of place. Can be low key, either way is good with us, long as the food is quality, and good!
They don’t need to specifically have a kid’s menu either…(heard they’re less common in Spain?) our kiddo eats all the same things we do, and already orders off the adult menu anyway 😂. But, just needs to be somewhere that is accepting and welcoming to families with kids!

Day trips for 2.5 days in Barcelona
Hi, planning a trip to Barcelona where we will arrive from Madrid at about 3pm on a Friday in late March and be leaving Monday morning.
I'm thinking of visiting Montserrat and/or Blanes as half-day trips on Sat and Sun and spending the evenings of Fri, Sat, and Sun exploring Barcelona, but am doubtful if that will really leave me enough time to explore the city. Additionally wondering if Blanes is even worth visiting in late March since the weather still seems to be a little cool.
I'm an outdoorsy person so I feel like I would enjoy what both places have to offer, but I still would like to see the city.
Should I visit Montserrat, Blanes, or both?

Técnico Superior en Administración de Sistemas Informáticos en Red” in Spain worth it?
Hi guys,
I’m a 19-year-old Moroccan guy considering studying in Spain to pursue a Grado Superior en Técnico Superior en Administración de Sistemas Informáticos en Red. I’m passionate about IT and interested in building a career in this field, but I’m still unsure if this program is worth it.
Could anyone share their experience or insights? Specifically, I’d like to know: • How valuable this qualification is in the job market (in Spain or internationally). • Is the program practical and industry-oriented? • Would it open doors to further education or certifications in IT?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Misleading
I’m looking for advice regarding two situations where I feel like I’ve been misled.
BBVA Account Issue
I recently opened a bank account with BBVA when I moved to Spain. At the time, I was staying in a temporary place and signed up for their services. They told me I had to pay €60 every 3 months and €250 annually for home insurance or I wouldn’t be able to open an account. I thought this was standard protocol, so I went ahead with it. I also showed them my non-lucrative residence visa with NIE number (so they knew I’m a resident).
Now that I’ve found a permanent place, I tried to update my address from my home country to my new local address. However, the system won’t let me. It seems like they opened a non-resident account for me despite my residency status, possibly to charge higher fees. • Has anyone experienced this before? • Is there any way to cancel the account and get a refund for the fees they charged me?
Vodafone Contract Issue
I also signed up with Vodafone for internet and mobile services. At the store, I saw a €46/month plan for fiber, mobile, and Netflix, but when I asked, they said it wasn’t available to me. Instead, they offered a €47/month plan for the first three months, which included fiber, mobile, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Vodafone TV. After three months, it would increase to €68/month.
Since I just needed fiber and a phone line, I asked if there were any cheaper plans, but they insisted this was my only option. I felt like I had no choice, so I signed the contract.
Today, I got the Wi-Fi installed, but when I tried logging into Netflix, it said it wasn’t included. After checking my account, it turns out the package I signed up for only includes Disney+ and Amazon Prime, not Netflix.
When I called Vodafone to ask, they told me I can’t cancel because I signed the contract, but I feel this was very misleading. • Is there any way to cancel the contract or escalate this issue? • Has anyone else had similar experiences with Vodafone in Spain?
Thanks in advance for any advice or help! Anything else I need to look out for?

Planning a Summer Proposal in Barcelona + Seeking Advice on the Best Spanish Island to Visit!
Hello everyone!
We’ll be visiting Spain this summer for a month and am planning to spend about a week and a half in Barcelona, where I’m excited to propose in front of La Sagrada Familia over the summer! For the second part of my trip, I’d like to spend another week and a half on one of Spain’s islands. My initial thought was Mallorca, but I’ve heard it can be quite crowded and maybe a bit overhyped.
I’d love to hear your suggestions for other islands or any tips you might have. Thanks in advance!

Advice on South and Eastern Spain
My husband and I (in our 60’s’) are going to Southeastern and Eastern Spain the last week of February and the beginning of March. I have a number of questions if anyone can help.
We are very much into enjoying the local culture and people watching. We also like unique shopping and art galleries where you can purchase art. We like to see the major historical sites but wouldn’t want to do that for a full day. We were able to do the Caminito del Ray and climb the walls in Dubrovnik, but other than that we do not do more rigorous sports like mountain biking. We also enjoy experiences like cooking classes or tours of cheese factories (which we have done in Italy). We also enjoy boat rides.
We have a total of 19 days, but we are going to Italy about half of the time. We have been to Spain a few times and love it. We have visited Madrid, San Sebastián, Bilbao, Malaga, Marbella, Ronda (loved this), Toledo, Granada, Seville, and Barcelona. Our favorites were Seville and Barcelona.
Out tentative itinerary is as follows:
1 1/2 days in Alicante (the 1/2 day we will be jet lagged)
3 days in Valencia
1-2 days on one of the islands (possibly)
5-6 days in Barcelona and points North (like Girona, Tossa de Mar, and Costa Brava)
We then fly from Barcelona to Italy.
Here are our questions:
Please give general comments on our itinerary. We are “fast travelers” and prefer to go to more places rather than spend too much time in one place.
Are there any of the islands that you would recommend that would have shops, restaurants, and cafes open? (We have not been to any of the Spanish islands before as we don’t like spending days and days on the beach. For what it’s worth, we did enjoy Mykonos and Santorini in Greece.)
What types of transport do you recommend? We have driven in Europe before and like the freedom it gives, but also love the train system as well.
Should we spend all of the 5 to 6 days in Barcelona (and do day trips to Girona and the Costa Brava area)? For what it’s worth, we have spent a number of days in Barcelona previously. Alternatively, should we stay in Girona or another place north of Barcelona for a couple days?
5–Are there any unique experiences that you would recommend?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Recieving a package
I just moved to Spain a few weeks ago and my gf sent me a package with some gifts for my birthday. I received a letter from Correos (which is all in Spanish and so as a recent arrival I can't really properly read it) saying I need to register online to receive it (I think this is because it's coming from outside the EU).
Anyway I've done relatively well so far on the Correos website but hit a stumbling block when the ask for ID. They seem to need ID registered with "AEAT", I don't have my NIE yet just my passport as ID and wondering if it'll be possible to register this. Apologies as all this is new to me, I've never heard of AEAT but I think they are the tax authorities... I don't actually pay taxes as I'm in Spain as a student, so haven't dealt with them yet.
Overall I think this all seems like a big misunderstanding as these were gifts, not commercial purchase. I'm willing to pay taxes and fill out forms to get them, just want to know if it's possible without a NIE. Also wondering how easy it'll be to go down to AEAT and speak to them without knowing any Spanish.
Also is there any chance I could just go down to the post office, fill out some forms and get my package?

Visas / Migration Advice on moving to Spain
Hi everyone!
I’m a 24-year-old guy from Italy, currently working as a UX/UI Designer. I recently spent three days in Madrid and absolutely fell in love with the city. I’ve always wanted to move to a foreign country, and I think Spain might be the perfect choice for me. The climate, culture, and lifestyle feel similar to Italy, which is a big plus!
I’m planning to make the move in about a year, but I honestly have no idea where to start. I’ve been browsing LinkedIn and found a few job offers, but most of them require a strong knowledge of Spanish—which I currently don’t have.
A few questions for those of you who’ve made the move or are familiar with Spain:
1. Which city would you recommend for job opportunities, cost of living, and overall quality of life?
2. How hard is it to break into the job market in Spain without being fluent in Spanish?
3. My girlfriend works in event planning—does Spain have good opportunities in this field?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help! 😊

Canadian wanting to move to Spain
Hello! I recently got my Irish/EU passport and am considering moving to Spain, but I’m very unsure where to start. My main focus is finding a job, so I’m curious about the easiest jobs to secure and which cities in Spain to consider as an English speaker. I have Web Design/Customer Service experience but am open to warehouse, hospitality, or customer service positions while I look for something more aligned with my skills. Since I’m currently in Canada, the time zone difference makes applying hard, so I’m open to any opportunities that would help me move there sooner.

Opinions Canary Islands
My dad has visited Canary Islands at one point and i heard it is a Spanish autonomous community. I am planning on vacationing for summer 2025 and i wanna ask the spaniards of this subreddit:
What is the Canary Islands like during the summer? Is it a good vacation spot? What are some fun activities to do there? What kind of animals are found in or near the Canary Islands?

Alternative spaces in Madrid?
My family moved to Madrid some time ago while I stayed in the States, it’s my first time visiting them and I wanted to know any good alternative spaces in Madrid where I could hang around. Any kind of goth/punk venues, avant garde esq art galleries, thrift stores with all kinds of clothing, or any areas where I could mingle and meet people in that sort of crowd. For context I am an 18 year old staying around Plaza Mayor. Any kind of recommendations help !

exchange student (Erasmus)
Heyya everyone!
I am a 20-year-old student from Norway who will study at UC3M this semester. I will be enrolling in the Getafe campus. Is anyone in the same shoes as I am regarding mobility online and registering courses on the SIGMA platform? I find it quite hard to pinpoint the right information, so I wanted to know if the period to register for your courses is between January 21./22. to February 3.? Also, I arrive in Madrid some days (approx. 9 days) before school starts to get familiar with the city and fully move into my apartment. Does anyone have any tips for meeting people outside of school during these days?
Thank you so much for your help :)

Advice on villa holiday in Spain
Hello, my family are looking for a quiet holiday in Spain. We love Spain, speak a little Spanish and love the food. We have an autistic daughter so need our own space, we have tried hotels in the past. It added a lot of stress and didn't work for us. We are looking at AirBNBs in a quiet town/village outside madrid so we can travel in to visit the city but also have some restaurants nearby to go to. A villa gives us everything we need but I have heard that tourists using airbnb villas are not welcome. Is there any solution for this I looked at serviced apartments but they seem to be the same as Airbnbs? Thanks

Anyone driving a microcar?
Can anyone some shed light on how to obtain the license? Asking for a friend who doesn't have an international license (underage) nor Spanish residency. Ofc, he can go back to his home country to acquire a licence but thought this would be a nicer alternative.

Tips for buying Real Madrid Tickets
Hello everyone, I am planning to attend the Real Madrid vs. Las Palmas match with my girlfriend on January 19.
To increase the likelihood of getting tickets, I have bought Madridsta Premium. 11 days before the start of the match, the sale has still not started. Does anyone have any experience or tips on the best way to get tickets or when the sale for Madridsta Premium starts?
