Reminds me of all the people who call The Last Jedi a failure despite making like a billion. Man, if these things are failures, let MY work fail!

Tbf, Star Wars is Star Wars. I didnt like the new trilogy but I went to the Cinema for every Movie they put out, i watched every Series more than once and i will continue doing so cause it’s Star Wars. Shitty Star Wars Media is still Star Wars Media 🤷‍♂️

That doesnt work for ND tho, their games are just all good.

I have more than my share of criticisms of how Disney has handled Star Wars, and Rise of Skywalker is, to me, the worst Star Wars movie, but I can't consider TLJ a failure in any sense except maybe in the failure of what came after to follow up on it.

People knock on TLJ but at least it did something different than repeating ESB like TFA did for ANH.

I really felt like it was SW stepping put to say "these stories don't HAVE to be about just Skywalkers and Palpatines, The Jedi and The Sith, forever and ever. We can do whatever we want."

And then the series about-faced and said, "actually, Star Wars is ONLY about Skywalkers and Palpatines, false alarm."

People also still argue heavily over the merits (and demerits) of TLJ, whereas most people seem to agree that TFA was mid to okay if only just a ANH rehash and TRoS seems to be mostly hated.

Different doesn't mean good. Sequels really felt directionless

I mean, am I crazy for feeling like TLJ was just ESB but in reverse?

So I guess I dreamed the Hoth ripoff but at the end rather than the beginning? I suppose it was salt not snow, big difference… Oh and the main Jedi character being trained in the force by the old curmudgeonly Jedi in a remote location with an area of the dark side they venture into and see a depiction of themselves there, that didn’t happen either?

There were a lot of parallels between ESB and TLJ.

TLJ is the best of the sequel trilogy, which sadly isn't a hard bar to clear considering the final film. It gave us a lot to chew on, and had IMO the best moments from the sequel trilogy. Too bad JJ Abrams basically spent an entire movie retconning TLJ and effectively making the entire sequel trilogy a flop.
