Tbh, anyone who thinks and says they are better FF fan than others because of whatever reasons, are not true fans. You have no requirement to be a FF fan, except for loving FF.
As always: the worst part about fandoms are the fans.
You could be an OG Star Wars fan from ‘77 but, if you like Ahsoka (or anything post-Disney that fits the “narrative”), you aren’t a “real fan”. I sometimes wonder what the Venn Diagram of insufferable nerds with shit attitudes and all the sci-fi/fantasy genres looks like. Probably almost a complete circle.
