I never understand critiques like this, they are in the same vein as people that complain about futuristic elements in FF games over medieval themes, especially when the former is literally what has been at the roots for nearly every FF title. There is no such thing as being "out of place" in FF games.

Yeah I saw people on the FF14 sub already complaining about the futuristic city and how its not "medieval fantasy anymore" and uhh.. when was Final Fantasy including FF14 EVER medieval fantasy? There's always some sort of mech somewhere, FF4 has you go in a spaceship and go to the moon to fight aliens and meet moon people!

Funnily enough, that last bit about FF4 happens in 14 too

Hell, Garlemald stuff has been in the game since 1.0 with hints of Allagan stuff since the moon fall shit started. 2.0 firmly established past high tech societies that crumpled due to indolence and hubris.

Granted, it's strange that Solution Nine looks like it's up and running but we also don't know the context of it. It could be like Esthar where it has an invisibility cloak.
