Anything to do alone on Christmas? Something to do
So I’m 28 F and can’t join my family for Christmas, meaning it’ll just be me and my cat alone in my undecorated apartment. Anyone know of anything fun to do? I saw that Old Nicks is doing a LOTR marathon, which sounds kind of fun but also kind of lonely since I don’t have anyone to go with. Anyone know of other events or something worth going to? I figure I can’t be the only person sad and alone on Christmas around here…
Edit/update: First of all, thank you so much for all of the suggestions, it honestly brightened my day. Second, my coworker invited me to spend Christmas evening with her and her family, so as long as her aunt says it’s fine for a rando to show up at her house that’s probably what I’ll be doing. If that falls through then I’ll be going off of these suggestions, probably going to the LOTR marathon at Old Nicks.

I have spent 4 of the last 5 holidays alone. I live in a different state than my family and single. For me it's about perspective. I view it as just another day. Yes I would always love to see my family but that's not always in the cards.
So instead of thinking about it being the holidays, think of what will make you happy on regular days when friends and family are busy, or when you are not available.
How are the holidays different than those days? Pressure? Ingrained sense of family? Not minimizing at all. Just perspective. Doesn't have to be life perspective but moment.
Would you go to LOTR if it wasn't the holidays? Or are you looking for a way to keep your mind off things, which is understandable.
Do what will make you happy. That's my advice. I can't tell you what to do, only offer advice, opinions and experiences.
No matter how you spend the day. Take care of yourself and I wish you the best.
