Best place in Eugene/Springfield for breakfast? Food

My mom and I went out for breakfast for the first time in a long time, last year. We went to Sharis in Springfield, which went downhill to say the least. Only 2 other people seated inside. Many of the tables were dirty. Waited almost 15min for the waitress to take our order, because she was too busy talking to the other waitress. It took 45min to recieve our food. Food was mediocre at best. It just wasn’t the Sharis we used to know.

Any great places in town you would recommend? We want to do breakfast again sometime soon, and would like a good recommendation! We both enjoy a good omelette and hash browns!

South Hills Cafe on Hilyard near 24th has some good food. I get the California or veggie Benedict with hashbrowns. Never been disappointed there.

Yes exactly this! Classic American breakfast menu imo, has something for everyone, good service! And I love seeing it busy with a diverse clientele, and has a neighborhood vibe to me.

While I find it decent food, let's not say it's quite classic American breakfast. It definitely has some of those options, but like half the menu or more IIRC has ingredients that clearly define it as south of the border influenced.

Maybe the menu changed? I haven't been in about a year.

I suppose it all depends on one's perception of classic American breakfast. South Hills Cafe has all the breakfast meats including linguica; then the variety of egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, sides are basic toast, meats, the potatoes, bagels, etc. Maybe the menu has changed, but the menu didn't come across to me as being heavy south of the border influences? Or these ingredients are more a part of my life already, it feels classic to me lol
