Give me the tea… Moving

Moving to Junction City (working in Eugene) from the Midwest in 2 weeks and am looking for intel from those who have also relocated from out of state (or locals if you’re not sick of invaders). I’ve been researching for months so I’m looking for the really obscure details that never occurred to you until you got there.

Nope. Do not. Currently moving from a mid sized mildly progressive (from midwestern perspectives) town (overall MAGA state) for that reason. I think I have a pretty good grasp of JC in terms of that. I’ll be working in Eugene and we’ll probably spend the majority of our free time either in Eugene or out exploring the surrounding areas. It wasn’t at the top of my list but it checked the boxes we needed to check in terms of affordability and availability of housing.

Just know the culture out there isn’t the best. Went to school out there, have friends with kids out there still. If you really want to get the vibe, join the FB group Junction City community uncensored. It shows the true colors of the town.

Yup, every time I met someone from Junction City they seemed like a racist bigot homophobic gross piece of shit.

To be fair I know someone from there who is very aware of all that and intentionally very progressive to go against all that shit.
