Give me the tea… Moving

Moving to Junction City (working in Eugene) from the Midwest in 2 weeks and am looking for intel from those who have also relocated from out of state (or locals if you’re not sick of invaders). I’ve been researching for months so I’m looking for the really obscure details that never occurred to you until you got there.

Uhh the foothills are big but they're not actually mountains. Bring an umbrella and be prepared to be teased for using it. Everything's expensive. If you like hiking you're in the right place.

Also, everything catches fire in the summer. There will be smoke. Possibly even evacuations. It turns the sun red and its hard to breathe. It's fun!

I read something on another sub (or maybe here) about the umbrella thing. lol. Luckily I hate umbrellas. They are a pain in my ass. I have a large selection of hoodies and ball caps and haven’t melted yet.

buy a good raincoat and water proof footwear. you’ll be fine.
