They had signs up saying they were going to be open in the evenings a few nights a week as a taqueria, but their website doesn't mention it at all.

Was that during Covid? At some point they put up a bed sheet with "Now Open" spray-painted on it. And it took a few days to complete that sentence- it just said "Now" for a few days. That's pretty much why I haven't even gone in. I checked their google ratings after opening this post, and they've got a lot of positive comments. It couldn't be in a more convenient location, so I might check it out.

There are no signs of their Taqueria aspirations. It must not have worked out. Their yelp listing still has it in their name, though.

I imagine I’d just go to El Jaguar if I wanted Mexican fare. The El Jaguar spot has been another property that hasn’t really popped since Jamie’s Burgers was banging in the early 90’s. I really miss the Cajun burgers and the crispy (McDonald’s or shoestring style) Cajun fries from Jamie’s.

As I mentioned, I’d like to see a housing tower go here with ground floor businesses like the building that hosts Provisions down the street. I’m sure the units would be super expensive, rented or sold, but any housing is good housing. Any business that moves in and can afford the rent would be a serious player. I look forward to that.
