I HAVEN'T HAD A DECENT NIGHTS SLEEP IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS, AVERAGING ABOUT THREE AND A HALF HOURS PER NIGHT.
LAST NIGHT I GOT TEN HOURS OF GOOD, SOLID, DEEP SLEEP AND I FEEL LIKE A BRAND NEW PERSON!

MY DOG GOT REALLY SICK LAST MONTH AND WASNT SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT. THE VET THOUGHT HE HAD HEMANGIOSARCOMA BUT I DIDNT HAVE AN EXTRA $5k LAYING AROUND TO DIAGNOSE IT. WE GAVE HIM A PLASMA TRANSFUSION AND VITAMINK SUPPLEMENTS AND HES DOING EXTRAORDINARILY WELL. BACK TO HIS ADORABLE FLOOFER SELF. HIS LABS ARE NORMAL. ITS LIKE NOTHING BAD EVER HAPPENED. THEY THINK THE SUSPECTED DIAGNOSIS WAS WRONG.
I START A NEW CAREER PATH ON MONDAY AFTER BEING A SAHM FOR 2 YEARS. IM SO EXCITED TO INTERACT WITH OTHER ADULT HUMANS AND HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON MY COMMUNITY. PLUS WE’LL FINALLY HAVE GOOD INSURANCE THAT DOESNT COST $1300/MO!!!
In all honesty, I’ve never been broke, let alone as broke as I am right now. But I’ve never felt so much gratitude for my life. Things are starting to go right and these little wins are keeping me going.

It is a private sewing class with 7 other women. We are learning to make custom fitted bras. The class was organized by some folks that are part of the @eugenesews community on Instagram. If you are a garment sewist in Eugene, be sure and follow @eugenesews. We are talking about doing advanced sewing courses regularly. It’s a blast!

Hmmmm, I am not sure. Let me ask and find out. (I quit insta.) There was discussion about bringing outside teachers in for advanced classes that focus more on fit than the actual sewing. The gal that taught this weekend was from San Francisco.
I do recommend you follow @fluidplusdrape. She is a local online fabric store and she carries high quality fabrics vs the stuff you get at Joann’s. She only carries garment fabric. She was in the class with me too.

I visited Eugene right after the ice storm and enjoyed myself immensely. The food was good, I had no issues with homeless people and I thought the city looked in pretty good shape compared to the last time I was there in 2013.

I MADE SOME MOST EXCELLENT CHICKEN, VEGETABLE AND MIXED RICE SOUP. MORE LIKE A STEW BUT TASTY AND PERFECT FOR THE RAIN. MY 83 YEAR OLD MUM HAD TWO SUCCESSFUL CATARACT SURGERIES THIS MONTH. I GOT MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM FOR SOMETHING LIKE 80% OFF - $1.75 A QUART. AND IM LUCKY - A CLEAN, WARM, SAFE PLACE TO LIVE/SLEEP. PEOPLE I LOVE, A DOG WHO ADORES ME (ITS MUTUAL). TOMORROW IM FINALLY GETTING MY HAIR CUT. 💖 AMPLIFY THE GOOD

My foster cat got adopted after just a couple of days of being fully ready. She is a great cat, and she's going to be with a great indoor home.
The Cattery at Petsmart North was almost totally empty when I dropped her off. She was only there for a few hours before her new owner came to get her. That being said, there are a lot of rewarding foster kitty experiences to be had right now with CRAN and some friendly cats.

FRIDAY I MADE AN ENTIRE HOMEMADE MEXICAN DINNER. TURKEY ENCHILADAS, PINTO BEANS COOKED FROM DRIED BEANS FOR REFRIED BEANS, SPANISH RICE, HOMEMADE SALSA, AND HOMEMADE GUACAMOLE. IT WAS A LOT OF WORK BUT SO WORTH IT. DELICIOUS!!

Me, too. The store close to me had 14-16lb turkeys for $7 if you spent $50. I ended up with 4 in my freezer so I just cooked one. Made broth and used the turkey for the enchiladas. So good!! Also put a pan in the freezer for next time I want some.

I bought a series X at the start of the new year and asked the Xbox community abt what games they recommended , I ended up getting about 9 or 10 games (long story as to why some of them were free) and it’s been so fun , a lot of these games I never would’ve thought to try but playing them so far has really broadened my … likeableness ?? (Is that even a word 😭) of games I play , usually I’m a FPS games type of guy but these story games have been a breath of fresh air and I’ve been enjoying playing them. One game I got for my gf is called Stardew Valley and according to her it’s as if minecraft and animal crossing had a baby , originally I was so caught up with these story games that I’ve enjoyed but I finally tried playing that game and it’s been a lot of fun for a “cozy” game , the best part is I can play co-op with my gf and we’ve been having a blast staying up until late hours building up our little farm and knowing the townsfolk in the game. I feel like a kid again with the thought of being able to enjoy and play a bunch of cool new games for hours on end :)

Stardew Valley is one of the best Indy games ever! The new update is due anytime in the first half of the year and I'm so excited for it! I'm thrilled that you discovered it and are having fun playing the co-op version with your girlfriend! I'm glad you are enjoying your other games, but Stardew has a special place in my heart!

I HAVE BECOME AN ORCHID MOM TO OVER 30 ORCHID PLANTS THAT WERE GOING TO BE COMPOSTED FROM FLOWER SHOPS. I'M GONNA MOUNT THEM TO COOL BRANCHES FALLEN FROM THE ICE STORM AND OTHER WOODS.
I'VE BEEN MAKING MASHED POTATOES WITH ONIONS AND CABBAGE ALMOST EVERY DAY FOR A WEEK SINCE LEARNING HOW TO QUICKLY GET IT DONE WITH MY INSTA POT! MAKES MY IRISH ROOTS SO HAPPY TO EAT THIS DISH!
