Another reclass for the Gators…
I am so, so curious to see where Walton ends up putting some of these girls. Not Bellaire, obviously, since we needed a backup catcher, but with so much depth on the roster… I’m not super sure what to expect for several of the positions.
Some things are seemingly given… Falby in center, Erickson catching, Brown at first when she isn’t pitching, Brooke Barnard being the happiest wedgie giver in the while world, etc.
But… will we see Cahalan at 3rd and Holtorf at ss? Will he keep Williams at 2nd and Otis in left, or shake those positions up with some of the freshman talent coming in? Who will redshirt this year? Will we even see Brown pitching as much since we have Oxley and Hammock?
I need softball season to be here like right now because I have so many questions and I need answers lol.

Met Patty Gasso this week
Oddly enough, I was in American Samoa at a little beach place called Tisa’s on New Year’s Day when I bumped into Patty Gasso. She willingly took a photo with me and I congratulated her on all her success. She couldn’t have been more gracious to a Florida Gator. She mentioned that they were coming to Gainesville this season and said the Gators were going to have a very good team. What a nice, unexpected experience.

College softball
There are things I have to list first -I’m mildly disabled -wasn’t scouted -I’ve been out of high school since 2019 To get on with my question. I’m a 24-year-old woman looking to go back to school and I was interested in softball, but I’m unsure if I missed my mark not playing for School teams in high school (did softball through the city teams only because it was a guaranteed spot vs tryouts). I then had a stroke my junior year which completely disabled me. I’m better now, but I developed a few setbacks including, but not limited to, not actually being able to run. I can easily walk/ move briskly but I cannot physically get myself to run without the risk of tripping and face-planting. I am pretty good at the bat still, so I'm hoping to be a designated hitter. Did I screw up my chances.

Stats questions about pitcher shutouts
When looking at college teams' pitching statistics, it will show individual pitcher shutout totals with two numbers. It might show 4-2 or 0-3.
Here's 2024 Texas. What does does 4-2 mean in the case of Mac Morgan? Or 0-3 with Estelle Czech?

Weekend Discussion Which schools do you wish had a softball program?
Biggest disappointments to me are Vandy, TCU, Miami, and most of all Southern Cal. They’d all have very prolific softball programs in my opinion.

Weekend Discussion Who’s starting for OU this year?
gallerySince they’re finally without their best class in program history, there will be many big shoes to fill. It’ll be almost an entirely new starting lineup.
Offensively, they only return Sanders (1B/DP), Pickering (OF), and Parker (DP/1B). In terms of pitching, their veterans are Deal and Monticelli. Who will fill in for the rest? Here are all of Gasso’s options:
Freshmen: Chaney Helton (OF) Tia Milloy (UTL) Riley Zache (C/INF) Kadey Lee McKay (INF) Audrey Lowry (LHP) Gabbie Garcia (INF) Sydney Barker (INF) Corri Hicks (C)
Transfers: Abby Dayton (OF) Ailana Agbayani (INF/RHP) Isabela Emerling (C) Sam Landry (RHP) Isabella Smith (RHP)
Returners: Cydney Sanders (INF) Ella Parker (UTL) Kasidi Pickering (OF) Kierston Deal (LHP) Paytn Monticelli (RHP) Hannah Coor (OF) Nelly McEnroe-Marinas (INF) Maya Bland (OF)
OU is typically known for having both impact freshmen and transfers in previous years as well. They’ll be young but I believe will still be a top 5 program throughout the season. What do you think will happen with OU this year? Who’s going to step up?

What are some teams/players you feel deserve more attention?
What are some college teams and players you think have something special about them and why? Could be that they have a compelling story or they're just fun to root for but they don't get the media attention you think they deserve.

2025 World Series question
My wife and I watch the world series every year religiously. However this year I was thinking of surprising her and myself and going in person to watch a game or 2. I was looking at tickets for the games, and they are very reasonably priced. I need help understanding the sessions though. I can purchase a ticket for session 1 through 10. I know that the rankings and matchups will be determined much later, but is there any sessions that are better than others? I just want to make sure that I don’t buy tickets for a session that maybe doesn’t happen because a team wins out and it doesn’t go the full series etc. Any help would be appreciated! Hopefully this is the right place to ask this. Thank you!

In > 20 innings of relief pitching at OU, Jordy Bahl never gave up an earned run
In all innings pitched in college softball, Jordy Bahl had a less than .040 ERA WRISP
I'd appreciate the help! I don't have a computer anymore

Walk on to a team sophomore year?
Before I say anything, I am well aware that this is a long shot, but please give me honest advice!
Right now I am a freshman in college and as much as I hate to admit it, I am sincerely regretting not playing softball at school. The college that I’m at doesn’t even have a club team. I was a decently stand out player especially during the end of my high school career and I know I could’ve played somewhere—now I’m not saying that would be OU by any means but I was able to play collegiate level.
Basically, my question is, would it be at all possible to transfer to a college and walk on a softball team? D1 D3, just anywhere. Even after a years absence but if I work and train hard for the remainder of the school year and summer? I have the work ethic to put in if there’s even a tiny chance and I’d be willing to reach out to anyone. Really do anything it takes.
I was on a phone call with my old softball coach who played at a big D1 school and this subject came up. Long story short she says it’s not impossible but it’s very difficult and unlikely. Do y’all have any advice for me? I know this seems like a probably ridiculous post but I’m trying to see what I can do

Concussions with loss of consciousness
Hi everyone,
I suffered a pretty nasty concussion playing volleyball almost a year ago that knocked me unconscious, and have had some lingering effects that have only recently started to clear up (thankfully), but it inspired me to conduct my own studies on the subject matter. Right now I’m conducting a study on the physiological differences (if any) between men and women when it comes to loss of consciousness due to a blow to the head, particularly in sports. My research aims to compare instances of concussions resulting in loss of consciousness across genders to analyze factors like:
- Average time unconscious
- Body posture during unconsciousness (e.g., limp vs. fencing responses)
- Eye states (open vs. closed)
- Recovery times and return-to-play durations
- Etc.
I’ve been able to locate many examples from men’s sports due to greater media coverage, but I’m having difficulty finding similar examples from women’s sports. If anyone knows of publicly available footage or instances from women’s softball that fit these criteria, I’d greatly appreciate it. Video footage is extremely helpful as it allows me to examine the occurrence visually and get the data I need more accurately, so if the game is available on YouTube or even a streaming service, that would be phenomenally helpful! I know concussions are fairly rare in softball as its not a contact sport but I know it does happen.
Please note, this is purely for academic purposes, and I’m committed to treating the subject matter with sensitivity and professionalism.
Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!

Clearwater ticket prices?
Hey! I was wondering if anyone knows a roundabout price of tickets for the clearwater invitational? Tickets go on sale next week, and I wanted to see if it was in the budget to drive down for the weekend. Thanks

Softball Advisor Services?
Hey Parents & Players! 🥎
I’m a former D1 softball player with close connections across D1 to JuCo and I know how confusing and costly the recruiting process can be. I’m putting together a Softball Development & Recruiting Advisor Service to help make this journey easier and more affordable for families. I want to give you the guidance I wish I’d had—basically a full blueprint to set your athlete up for success.
Here’s what I’m planning to include:
✅ Softball Skill Development Modules
✅ Strength & Conditioning Programs tailored to your needs
✅ Mental Skills Training for peak performance
✅ Comprehensive Recruiting Guide to help you understand the process and stand out to college coaches
✅ Parent Module: Tips on supporting your athlete, financial planning, and navigating financial aid
✅ 1:1 Personalized Support for players and families throughout the journey. I will even try and connect you with a current player in college to have as a mentor!
I’ll also be using my network to create a podcast with real insights from coaches and players to give you the inside scoop on recruiting. My goal is to make this process less stressful and more effective for everyone involved.
What do you think? Would this be helpful? I’d love your feedback and any ideas on what else you’d like to see!! 😊

Mary Nutter Classic reserved seating advice please
Hi, I bought my Tournament Pass for the 2025 tournament. I'll be cheering for Duke. Can you please offer some advice for reserved seats? What rows are better than others? Should I try to buy behind the dugout, toward home base? Thanks so much for your time and advice!!!
