And he can never legally own a firearm again which is a big win.

You know what they say - when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

Well that doesn’t really pertain here because guns aren’t outlawed for the populace. They are only outlawed for those who choose not to adhere to the rules of civil society and the laws of this nation, also known as violent felons.

Is it not all felons? I was under the impression that any felonies completely barred gun ownership. I realize there are places where you can petition to get your rights back, but they aren’t automatically restored

Yeah I think if it’s not a violent crime or specific times of crime you can regain the right the have firearms.
