Discussion Is there a solar union yet?
These Companies are greedy. If they did paid fair it seems like they're trying to beat everybody down into an hourly wage that is ridiculous now.
I also repair or complete botched systems for the finance companies. So I see a lot of terrible work, and meet a lot of unhappy customers.

Discussion What part of "I already have solar" do you not understand?
Is it any wonder so many people think solar is a scam? I get at least one call a week trying to sell me me a leased rooftop system from some shiathole call center. Half of them keep going with the sales pitch after I've explained to them I've owned my solar system since 2016.
Energy is an puzzle
Energy can bot be created or destroyed. Is energy limited in universe?
Republicans Can Slow but Not Stop Electric Vehicles, Experts Say. Trump and Republicans plan to eliminate the federal aid for EVs and reverse emissions rules. US EV sales would take a hit. But experts say market forces and tech progress will ultimately drive a transition to electric vehicles.

Wow. The number of trolls on this sub have gone way up.
I've not visited this sub for a few months, but what a shocker. So many bad faith arguments and short hostile comments.
Hopefully I'm wrong or it's a short term issue mods or time can fix.
Advice Wtd / Project going solar: expected bill?
I'm thinking about going solar in California, and trying to price it out. Based on my utility's rate plans (PG&E), I expect that the typical monthly cost will be something like $25 ($15 E-ELEC, $10 delivery charge) plus whatever I give/take to the grid.
One solar company mentioned that my utility essentially "taxes" solar arrays by charging a fixed amount per each kW of solar. But I cannot find anything online about this--either at the utility website, or searching via google. Can anyone who recently went solar in the Bay Area tell me what I can expect? Thank you!
Edit: Yes, I'll have a battery.

Discussion Solar Cleaning
There seems to be an explosion of contactors and companies cleaning residential solar panels. Some as low as AUD$8/panel! Don't even know how anyone could make money at that rate...
Who's paying to get their solar panels cleaned? Does it really make that much difference? What's your experience been with these providers?
News / Blog Good article explaining the future pricing of electricity and natural gas pricing
utilitydive.comThis article has a lot of information about what is going to happen in the future with electricity and natural gas pricing. It explains how the various changes in demand for electricity in future years is going to raise prices. Seems like a good argument for installing solar.

Discussion Tree blocking production for 3 hours everyday - Suggestions
Attached image. A Big tall tree with the branches/leaves is blocking the production for ~3 hrs. Drops from ~4 kwh to ~0.5 kwh during that period. Any suggestions ?
Should I reach out to the city to trim it ? Can solar be a justified reason for trimming ?
Tree is located in a public space infront of next to next neighbor.
