Do you think the next game will/should bring back carbines as their own weapon class? Discussion
If they do then I'd rather them be a class exclusive weapon type like in bf3. Pdws felt better as the universal weapon type imo.

i just want faction based weapons the way they did it in BF3 or even hardlines way

Only if there is greater faction variety than just US vs russia. Just using either AR or AK rifle platforms would be very boring imo.
My hope is that the factions wouldn't need to be grounded in current day political alliances, I think it would be cool to see something like modern France vs modern germany

Depends really on how many classes we get and how primary weapons are distributed and how they would differ in gameplay
If there is no restriction on primaries, then there would be very little need to add them, as long as it does not result in major gameplay differences.
If there are restrictions on primary weapons, then they should be their own category, so that the majority of classes have a midrange option. Otherwise might lose teamplay options as squads will have a harder time sticking together.

I’m fine with some weapons being universal, but giving everyone access to slightly weaker AR’s was bad for balance. I’ve always felt that weapon restrictions are an integral part of Battlefield, and giving everyone carbines was a cop out.
Plus it made PDW’s pretty obsolete which is sad since there’s a lot of potential for that weapon class.
