WW3 never received any proper updates and didn't have an extraction mode tied with it. It also never received nearly the same amount of hype from streamers and YouTubers that DF has had recently.
If DF only had the objective based multiplayer mode then no one would really care.
I have. It's going to be one of those games you either love or hate.
The large scale multiplayer mode is alright though there's only the one game mode and two maps so it gets a bit boring after a bit. The selection of guns and the gun customisation is very good.
The extraction mode is good and is the stand out feature. It's nowhere near as hectic as Tarkov...actual IRL combat is probably less hectic than Tarkov. It's pretty much DMZ with Battlefield-esque gameplay.
It really depends on how much support it gets. There's a good few extraction shooters coming, with Arena Breakout and Grayzone Warfare coming out. So it has competition on that front. The fact that it has both large scale multiplayer and an extraction mode sets it apart from the other titles.
I imagine it will be popular for a few months, then have a steady player base (nothing like Battlefield itself, tbf) until the next Battlefield comes out. It really needs more maps and multiplayer game modes, though I expect that's going to happen on release of the beta. Will have to wait and see. It's not a 'Battlefield Killer' by any means, as some people seem to be throwing around.
