That's so easy to solve, if governments are willing to stand up to them.

Companies that produce plastics and the biggest users of plastic packaging, bottles etc now also are responsible for the recycling.

How much plastic they produce is linked to how much they recycle. Starting at 50% and +25% every 5 years until it reaches 200%, by then if they want to produce 1 ton of plastics, they need to recycle 2 tons.

They already have a huge logistic network to deliver their products, add to it the collection of plastic garbage.

They've been saying recycling is the solution for decades (it isn't) so now put your money where your mouth is, or be forced to reduce plastic production.

Isn't recycling defined as reusing it in new ptoducts? How would you achieve a >100% rate with that? Chemically dissolve it and make non-plastic products out of that?

They take in plastic garbage and recycle it.

Yea but what happens with the 50% they aren't allowed to put to use as new products?
