Day tours- Faro
Hi all- I’m looking for some help brainstorming either a day trip or activity for two seniors visiting in Feb/March. I’m looking to organize this as a gift and would like it to be special and cost isn’t really a concern. They like wine, hiking (not too strenuous), cultural experiences and great food. Are there any tour companies that could pick them up at there accommodations and take them out for antique experience for the day? Or are there any luxurious spas near by that would fit the bill for a very special experience? I’ve spent a few hours searching the internet and this sub, but nothing has stood out. Give me your ideas please!
Edit- does not have to be limited to Faro, but within a reasonable distance for a day trip.

2 Days in Algarve? Need Your Experience
Hello,
I will be travelling the first week of April to Portugal with 2 toddlers (Age 3 and 2), and I am thinking of going to Algarve as my first stop after landing in Lisboa.
I am having a hard time deciding where to day, and what to do, as I think each city has something nice.
- I am thinking of Lagos, but I really want to take the boat tour to Benagil Cave and dolphin watching and I think most/all tours depart from Albufeira?
- How's the weather generally in early April? Would going to the beach around 4pm good, or will it be too cold (for the toddlers)?
- I will be staying 7 days in Portugal. I think this is a good mix of places, Thoughts?

Warhammer 40k?
Hi all, I'm moving to the Algarve soon and am wondering what the 40k scene looks like. I understand there's a gaming shop near Loule called Mulligan, can anyone recommend it? Any other places to play? Thank you kindly!

Recommendations for the Best Benagil Cave Boat Tour in Algarve?
Hi everyone,
I’m planning a trip to the Algarve in December and I’m really excited to visit the famous Benagil Cave! I’ve been researching and found lots of boat tour options, but it’s overwhelming to choose the right one.
I’m specifically looking for recommendations for boat tours (not kayaking or SUP) that offer great experiences.
If you’ve taken a boat tour recently or know the best companies for this, I’d love to hear your suggestions or tips. Bonus points if the tour includes stops at other caves or scenic spots along the coastline!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Winter trip to Algarve
I'm planning a trip to Portugal for 10 days in February, and hope to spend 3-4 days in the western Algarve. We are not resort or party people, and don't really go to beaches. While in the Algarve, we hope to hike the Seven Hanging Valleys, visit Sarges and Cabo de São Vicente, and Costa Vicentina Nature Park. We want a place that's convenient with good authentic restaurants and doesn't have the Cancun vibe.
Looks like Carvoeiro, Lagos, Silves, Sagres and Vila do Bispo will all do the trick. Currently leaning towards Lagos given it's a relatively large town with good access to restaurants, grocery and highways.

Sunflower seeds ?
Does anyone know where to buy sunflower seeds ? My Russian girlfriend bought a whole stash back home in Switzerland and then promptly forgot to bring them. Any supermarket or specialty store carry salted sunflower seeds ? Brands ‘Monarx’ or ‘from Martin’, preferably in the Portimao / Lagos area ?

Elevated restaurant in Lagos?
Hi all!
I’ll be in Lagos for my birthday in January, and I’m looking for a dinner place for a group of 6. I’d love if it’s a set menu, but doesn’t have to be, restaurant, somewhat elevated but doesn’t have to be fancy.
Budget of max about 100€ per person would be ideal.
Would you have any tips? Anything you’ve tried that’s good? ❤️

Fútbol na praia/Beach football
Hello! English is better than my Portuguese unfortunately!
As title suggests, looking for beaches to play a game of football with some friends next summer, are there dedicated spots? Would locals/fellow tourists be offended if we used cones to build out a mini pitch on a section of a beach?
Looking for recommendations on where’s best to do this to be least disruptive to everyone.
Thanks!
Edit: my phone autocorrected futebol to the Spanish version…..

Last minute Algarve trip, need help on itinerary.
Hello! As the title suggests, I’m going on a last minute trip to the Algarve in the first week of December. It will be my first time in the Algarve and also my first solo travel. I will be at Faro early Nov 30th and flying back home early Dec 7th.
I’m thinking of taking the bus to Seville (for the Architecture) and staying there for 1 or 2 nights (Nov 30 - Dec 2) and spending the rest of the week in the Algarve (Dec 2-6). Is this a good idea or should I just spend the whole week in the Algarve and maybe just do a day trip in Seville?
I will be renting a car in the Algarve and driving around to explore the cities/villages, see the beaches and maybe go on hikes. Any suggestions on how I can make the most of my time there?

Has anyone stayed at an amazing house that they would recommend? Would like something walkable to food and stuff. A pool would be great. Would like the option of hiring a chef for part of our stay. Any home rental site recs are welcome! Thanks!

[Advice Needed] 12-Day Portugal Itinerary
Hey, Reddit! I’m planning a 12-day trip to Portugal, arriving in the Algarve on Nov 21 and leaving from Lisbon on Dec 3. I love picturesque towns, Instagram-worthy spots, beaches, hikes, and the must-see highlights. Here’s my rough itinerary:
Algarve (Nov 21–27)
- Base in Lagos: planning to see Ponta da Piedade, Benagil Cave, Praia da Marinha, and nearby towns like Silves, Monchique, Sagres, and Tavira.
Lisbon & Surroundings (Nov 27–Dec 3)
- Lisbon: Belém, Alfama, Baixa, and Parque das Nações
- Day trips: Sintra (Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca) and Cascais/Estoril
Would love any tips on must-visit spots, hidden gems, or places to eat! Thanks in advance! 🙏
