Local Vibes Ice skating/pond hockey

Willow Creek ice is closed and the city park ice is in very poor condition. Does anybody know if Willow Creek will open soon, the city park ice will be fixed, or if there are any other public outdoor places to skate?

Food & Entertainment Non Vail owned restaurants at Canyons Village

Unfortunately, have family visiting town this coming weekend for their annual vacation. Though I have convinced them to avoid skiing PCMR, they do still have a timeshare at the Canyons and will be using it. Are there any non-Vail owned restaurants in the Village I can point them to? Also any restaurants on Main Street they should check out? I love the Cabin and O'shucks but not sure if it's my families vibe.

Weather / Snow Discussion 13" Saturday into Sunday?

PCMR conditions report claims 13" Saturday into Sunday over the weekend. I could just be slow, but it seems like the snow stake cam history didn't show it. Fake news?

Visiting PC Park city next week? Cancel?

Hi all,

I have a trip to Park City Skiing next week that I planned for 8 months ago. Should we cancel? We have epic pass and don’t know if it’d be possible to get a refund. We can change our flights and hotel (with a fee). Trying to decide what is best? What do y’all think?

Relocating 🚚 Housing/Moving

What’s up everyone. I’m about to finish college up in the next few months and have to start putting my life together. Looking to move to park city in June then stay for a year maybe two to work then ski all season. I have no connections there or any knowledge. What’s the best way to pull this off in terms of housing/jobs anyone have tips or tricks to make it affordable? I might have a roommate but I think I’m just gonna be doing it solo. Any advice is appreciated.

Random thoughts & things Tokkers, Please

OK Tokkers. Enough portrait shakey-cam and 3-second 180s of long lift lines in Park City. Try landscape, deep breaths, and pan a bit slower. You’re welcome.

Local Vibes 84098 is not park city (proper)

Curious what the history is of why 84098 is not actually Park City. Although the ZIP code is Park City, it's not Park City proper for those that don't know in my mind, Park City is all nearby communities, canyons, summit Park, J ranch, Redstone, etc. But really these are not part of Park City proper which is interesting because there's different zoning laws, rules, regulations, officials, etc.

Any ideas or insights? Why Park City doesn't annex these areas? Pros are cons to either approach? Not advocating either way, just trying to learn.

PCMR Skiing to Town Lift

Are you able to ski to Town Lift to start your day of staying near one of the runs that funnels to it? We just arrived today and I looked at Quit N Time and noticed there are ski tracks on there so people must be skiing down to Town Lift and skiing back down to go home. Wondering if anyone has personally done this within the past week or so?

Local Vibes Most cost effective base grind?

Hey folks, I do the majority of my own (and my families) ski tuning, but the time has come to get some bases ground (which I can’t do properly). Where is the most cost effective place in Park City (or in the valley if it is substantially cheaper). I have 8 pairs of skis to do, so prices matter! I can do my own bevels and side edges (and waxing and base repairs). Suggestions?

PCPSPA Strike 💪🪧 Does govt need to step in at PC?

I’m usually anti big gov but even more so I’m anti corporations who’ve taken metric obsessed capitalism into every corner of our lives including activities like skiing, mountain sports, even youth sports. I consider this a space, a realm that should be preserved and protected. These exact things make America amazing. That being said, how much longer until the govt gets involved - state or local? This is awful for pc and Utah.

Idk what more is necessary for someone to step in, this is embarrassing our resources are being dangled in front of us like this. Even the math is peanuts - ~900k for the patrollers salary increase. How has this not been resolved yet?
