I don't even know why this has ever been a debate.

u/LilShaver Nov 28 '23
Because it makes it harder to steal the elections. You can't haul a busload of people from precinct to precinct and have them vote at every one if they have to show ID.
34
u/blacklipsmatter Nov 28 '23
I know that. That's why I'm saying I don't understand why it's ever been a debate. No ID, no vote.
25
u/SmokedRibeye Nov 28 '23
Because Democrats only win because they cheat. It’s debated because democrats want to continue cheat and steal elections.

u/bobobedo Nov 28 '23
Something to distract us while we're being vigorously fucked.

It’s racist because according to Democrats brown people are too stupid to get a photo ID

The question is, Why the fuck would you not support this? The only reason I can think of is you support voter fraud.

Sounds great but if the machines are corrupt, what's the point?

Baby steps.

It’s going to take time to get all the rot out. I also believe there are actual good people on the left that have been so mislead for so long that as some of these things shift, they will come around. Some people. SOME

100% yes. It should be mandatory in every state.
Of course that will never happen because swing states will all be red and even California would legitimately be in play. Really makes you wonder why the GOP doesn’t make voter ID their #1 priority.

Yes. People have to use a photo ID to sign up for Welfare, utilize the bank services, buy alcohol, get on a plane, and dozens of other things.

u/Houjix Nov 28 '23
Libs claim that black people don’t need any of those things and voting is the only thing they care about

their votes will be up against states that find boxes of votes over night and use illegal immigrants to expand census numbers

u/Accguy44 Nov 28 '23
With one qualification - to avoid accusations of a poll tax or whatever, TX should provide state picture IDs free of charge to citizens who do not have a drivers license or other applicable ID. I’m very much against “free gubmit stuff” but here it might be necessary

See the Wisconsin Voter ID Law of 2016. The vote results after the law was initiated were not a surprise.

I thought we already did something close to this. Every time I vote the first thing they ask for is my driver's license.

Hell yes every state should be that way! I’m 50 years old and have to show my I.D. For tobacco why shouldn’t I have to show it to vote?
1
u/agt1662 Nov 28 '23
Absolutely for sure. Should be the mandatory norm everywhere. There’s a reason you don’t want voter ID is so you can cheat. Need one to drive a car, travel, rent a hotel room, gamble, buy alcohol, buy cigarettes, and a myriad of other things. Just stupid to have no voter ID laws.

Anyone concerned with election integrity should be behind this. If you aren’t, we know why…

Ban mail in ballots for everyone except military and see what happens, discontinue the use of dominion voting machines. Elections get real again.

Nov 28 '23
Absolutely.... and I'll go further to say proof of citizenship should be required nationwide in all elections.

u/Janiebug1950 Nov 28 '23
Yes. There is no reason not to. Normal Life Business requires a Photo ID be provided - banking, cashing a check, often using a credit card, Drs Offices, Hospitals, Dentist Offices and airline travel, are always examples!

Well, China sent a 💩 ton of fake ID's over the Southern border. They will have to verify the ID and registration as we as signatures.

As long as it’s coupled with some strong efforts to make IDs free and accessible to people, I don’t see how it’s a bad call.

u/StillSilentMajority7 Nov 29 '23
Of course. Why wouldn't we want to do what every other civilized country on the planey does?

I still don't understand why this can be considered racist. I like to entertain ideas (call the discourse from my academia), and attempt to understand as many sides as I can. Voting isn't for illegal immigrants. You want to vote? Citizenship. (Hell I'm surprised there isn't even a civics test to do that! We have to take two tests to drive! Nothing to vote.. I feel like we're missing something here).

u/Naughty-ambition579 Nov 29 '23
Yes, every state should have voter I.D. as a matter of fact they shouldn't have any sort of mail in voting. If you can't get to the precict there should be a driver for just that. If they are disabled the driver should bring them right in and wheel them into the voting booth and back to the car.

100%, unequivocally, without a doubt. It is the single easiest way to guarantee voter integrity and eliminate all the voter fraud.
1
u/r2k398 Nov 29 '23
Not buying it. We already have “ID required” but you can sign an affidavit and vote without one.

Always have to show a ID in my precinct. I bet they don’t in many others though in Illinois.
