Finally some good news, I would have put money on this incident never going to court TBH.
Now then, lets predict what will happen:
Say something offensive on social media: Prison
TV pedo presenter caught red handed: Let off with warning
Fight with armed police in a highly restricted airport? Warning + Free housing/Hotel + money + healthcare + annonymity?

Right, I'm off to start WW3 I'm sure I will just get a slap on the wrist, right?

Tempted to bet that this, if it ever goes to court, will be judged by Tanweer Ikram. The two will literally get out of jail scot free regardless of evidence or having commited a crime or not.

Such is the state of British judiciary, another "captured" insitution.

Repost something false on Twitter, prison within 2 weeks. Punch a police officer, breaking her nose, 5 months to be charged.

surely its nowhere near as simple as that, the speech offenses are surely simple liability offenses

if your speech reaches a certain threshold eg calling for an arson attack against a hotel then you would be arrested then **plead guility** - as people who have been sentenced quickly do.

with the mancs case certainly it does appear to be both a more complex offence but also a unclear set of facts.

I don't think anything about the facts is unclear - there's video footage of the whole incident, much of which is publicly available. GBH, assault on a police officer, plenty of other offences are immediately obvious and the charge sheet could've been drawn up overnight.

Aside from everything else, the complexities of the case would only impact the court case. It doesn't take long to see exactly who hit who, when, and how it all came about. Take a list of offences, hand out charges, then let the CPS go about their business.
