I was hoping they got her a third time on the shoulder

How can you tell the gender of the driver?

87

u/Sarke1 3d ago

No, the car is female.

16

u/RunLikeHayes 3d ago

Yep!

u/MakeWar90 3d ago

Thanks for clarifying! She really didn't deserve that beating (the driver sure did, though!)

I drive a motorcycle everyday for at least 2 hours. An unfortunate truth is that 80% of bad drivers are women, 20% are old men or taxi drivers.

Your method of reasearch is outstanding. I have informed every scientist to follow in your footsteps and to buy a motorcycle and spend 2 hours a day with their research. At the rate we will cure cancer and solve racism, all thanks to you.

You're welcome!

Wow, groundbreaking motorcycle research and casual misogyny? You're a real Renaissance man. Quick heads-up though: you're actually doing a better job of living up to the stereotype of the misogynistic Hispanic man than proving your '80% bad driver' theory. Congrats on that!

Regarding that recent post you made about your anger issues—did you ever have that rage burst, or are we still warming up? Anyway we can watch the tantrum unfold in real time?

Ten whole minutes trying to find a better reply, much more time than I had to spend looking through your history to find something hilarious.

Good luck with your anger issues, little dude.

And insurance metrics disagree with your findings. Young men cause more accidents than any other group.

I drive a motorcycle everyday for at least 2 hours.

Holy shit a whole two hours? No way, that's crazy

Oopsie… someone just exposed themselves as a sexist

No more/Just as sexist… you are correct.

Someone said maybe they were referring to the car as one would a ship.

Otherwise, it’s not being exhausting at all. It’s realizing subconscious prejudice and trying to be a better human.

Did they flip a coin or did they see a car do something stupid and choose to call the driver female without actually having any evidence of the gender?

Or they called the car a girl like one does a ship.

I hope it’s the latter, because you’re really incorrect on the former.

Ha! Got eem!

1) If they said "him" instead of "her" would it be sexist against men? Of course you'll answer "no", but you'll also be too hypocritical to admit that saying "her" is no more sexist than saying "him".

2) In most languages, items have a gender. Cars are female in every language I am fluent in (which is 3 of them besides English). My first thought was that they meant "the car" when they said "her". I constantly refers to items as "he" or "she" in English out of habit, because in my native language these items are gendered male or female, and only the dumbest of the dumb think that it's some secret cabalistic sexist code instead of fucking grammar.

-5

u/StatusJoe 3d ago

Of course it would be sexist if they assumed it was a man. That exactly how this works. When you can’t see the driver, and men and women are equal, why would you assume the gender? Unless they were just nautically referring to the car.

Congratulations on your fluency. That’s a cool skill to have in life. I’m envious. I just know a bit of Spanish. Enough to get by, poorly, if I were somehow stranded south of the border.

4

u/LabasSouslesEtoiles 3d ago

Unless they were just nautically referring to the car.

Or, and that may blow your mind, they are not an native speaker of English and are one of the multiple billions of humans who speak a gendered language.

0

u/StatusJoe 3d ago

THEN THEY NEED TO LEARN AMERICAN!

Joking.

If they were sexist they shouldn’t be and if they weren’t then this was just a PSA to anyone watching that sexism should be avoided.

10

u/BrimstoneOmega 3d ago

Or perhaps they were referring to the car. Vehicles are ofter referred to as "her". Both ships and cars.

5

u/RunLikeHayes 3d ago

This was how I posted it originally. Her was the vehicle

0

u/StatusJoe 3d ago

That would be dope. I guess the ship was just christening her then. “Fair voyages!”

-65

u/Sir_Budginton 4d ago

That would have a pretty high chance of killing the driver, and it’s a pretty massive and jump to go from “fuck insurance scammers” to “murder insurance scammers”.

17

u/hellp-desk-trainee- 3d ago

The truck driver would just be doing everyone a favor.

2

u/grumpijela 3d ago

While I'm no fan of scammers, as they got me for 34 000 and now I have a dashcam, I don't wish death on them. Just a good toe stubbing every day.

10

u/aferalkitten 3d ago

And.....?

5

u/Helioskull 3d ago

Nothing you said sounds negative?

-7

u/Sir_Budginton 3d ago

I guess people here just really like the idea of doing something that has a high chance of causing bodily harm/killing insurance scammers…

I don’t like them either, but I also don’t like the idea of killing someone even more
