Blast from the past. I never watched TOS as a kid but my dad would always perk up when this commercial came on.

Clearly just clever editing of pieces of the movie with just Shatner doing some extra lines behind a green screen / map of the movie. Note when he speaks vs walking around. None of the actors looked like that when directv was around, except for shatner, who is older too, but they don't contrast it with older shots of his face.
