Surreal, absurd, outlandish, preposterous... But there it is. The entire earth clearly reflected off the side of a car. [1920x1080]

And it says "made by humans on it" in case we are not alone out here. Which is a much better debate then arguing that the Earth is flat.

Yeah, we can't have some english-speaking aliens think it was sent by Vulcans or some shit.

It has a computer chip in it stamped "Made on Earth by Humans", however that's not going to make much sense to the (;) race of planet [[]! It's the only time I'll say this but they should have gone emoji all over their asses: 🌍👫🔧. Though there's a good chance they might think we look like spanners and make hollow starmen.

Ugh makes me mad! They are so 2 dimensional! It's almost like they can't see the whole picture or something.

Does it really? I don't see why we don't show the entire alphabet before writing our words to show that there's a limit to the symbols and to hint at their meaning.

It bothered me in Arrival that the linguist couldn't figure this out.

Writing down the alphabet wouldn't really help with the meaning at all. Also, SpaceX didn't bother too much since the car isn't even leaving the solar system for the next few billion years.

Yes it would. It would show there's a limit to the symbols and together they form a meaning. It's less overwhelming when you realize there are only 26 letters.

If an alien sees "made by humans on it," what are they supposed to understand?
