I don't know - I do recommend not naming them something similar to any of your friends. My partner is used to the fact that he is part of a game of pretend which involves the sloth. But whenever I mention our friend Sami I forget to mention I mean the human person.
I came up with Sammy because I like alliteration but I couldn't come up with any names starting with Sl other than Sloane and mine doesn't feel like a Sloane.
She's very good at talking to me in my head but to other people she has to throw her voice so that she sounds like I'm talking for her. She's teaching me to slow down and to appreciate the benefits of taking things slower. I asked for her for Christmas for that reason.
Also Sloths have amazingly weird biology. I find that super fun to talk about.

I think you have the same sloth I got for Christmas 2 years ago. Mine is named Sammy short for Samantha.
