Few bad apples ruin this area sometimes. Christmas frustration. Events & Activities
TL;DR - Skip to 3rd paragraph if you want to get straight to it. LOL! I can get a bit talkative.
First of all, I love this town and the surrounding towns. I was born at the old Community Hospital in ‘76 and never wanted to leave the area.
It is not without it’s faults at times sure, but a lot of it comes down to the choices people make.
My wife and I have been together over 25 years and got a late start having kids, so our sons are 12 and 14. It’s a fun age and the things they like are either too expensive, or sometimes hard to get in general.
We heard the little church in Winston was giving out toys for families in need. My niece went and called my wife to tell her about it and that they had Funko Pops, and action figures. It was going on until 4:30. Perfect! She got off work around 3:45. By the time she got there, almost all of the Pops and He-Man figures were taken by people writing down that they have 10 children, and then having a friend get several as well.
Utterly disgusting behavior. It was supposed to be immediate children and be limited to 2 items per child. That’s plenty help if you’re there honestly.
I know there are worse things, and I’m blessed to have 2 great boys that have both said they just want to enjoy a Christmas together as a family in our own apartment for the first time in 5 years. It’s just the principle of the whole thing.
Okay, rant over. Thanks for listening (reading).

Hang in there. Entitlement a d greed has reached an all-time high, and I totally agree it's disgusting.
I feel guilty accepting any help because I know others have it worse! So to see someone take such advantage, KNOWING that being a pig means other parents miss out on gifts for their kids is repulsively rude.
But you know what? It sounds like you already have just what your kids need, and they love you for it. That's a huge gift both ways. Great job!
